I really think USA has a great chance to get a gold, or a silver, but i know they can pull off a gold…Miller is playing sick, Kessel is pushing the puck hard to the net and making alot of nice plays, so is Kane and plenty of other players…their confidence is definitely building and i think they will only get stronger! lets go USA!!! USA girls play Canada tonight for the gold, so maybe we can get 2 gold medals out of hockey!

Sorry buddy but no one is beating our Canadian girls
True story. The USA girls are a bunch of primadonnas who think they’re rock stars in sport no one wants to watch. Their coverage on the back check sucks, and the discipline isn’t there. I guess that’s what happens when you win three straight world championships. But basically they play like NBA players.

As happy as I am for our girls winning the gold tonight…I just couldnt watch the game. Its like watching AA high school hockey game.
This was the first women’s hockey game I’ve watched (well 2nd, I watched Sweden/Finland too) and I thought it was exciting as shit. Obviously it’s not gonna be as good as the men’s but it was not boring whatsoever.
The US and Canadian women’s level of play has grown immensely since 1998 debut of the olympic sport. They are actually watchable now - sort of… not really. But better I guess.
As for the cheap play, the girls never have to vouch for their actions. They wear cages, they can’t hit, and they can’t fight. The men know better because they can get laid out, fucked up, and targeted even when they return to the NHL. They police themselves. The women can do whatever they want with no justice. Stupid as hell that they don’t give out more penalties after the whistle to keep that in check.
As for the men;
I’m calling the Finish upset the USA. Kipper vs. Miller in the nets is the story of this game. I think the Fins have the number of team USA tomorrow. Slovaks give Canada more trouble than anyone expected. Canada eeks it out to face the Fins.
The men’s tournament is so close it’s going to be amazing watching the last four games!
Some interesting points in that very few on here gave Slovakia much credit or Finland really. I still say it’s a US-Canada final, the US has a physical and leadership edge on Finland, and Canada is coming of a beatdown of Russia and has Mike Babcock to channel that.
btw that loss to the US “cuts like a knife”
