If I have I son, I would totally want to name him that. Don’t think the wife would go for it though.

The Canadian women got the gold woohoo!

=D

There’ll be some celebrating tonight!

Way to go ladies !!!I am kinda dissapointed in the cheap play of the Americans though

What an exciting game. Congrats to the Canadians for this one, they outplayed the U.S. big time.

As happy as I am for our girls winning the gold tonight…I just couldnt watch the game. Its like watching AA high school hockey game.

This was the first women’s hockey game I’ve watched (well 2nd, I watched Sweden/Finland too) and I thought it was exciting as shit. Obviously it’s not gonna be as good as the men’s but it was not boring whatsoever.

I really think USA has a great chance to get a gold, or a silver, but i know they can pull off a gold…Miller is playing sick, Kessel is pushing the puck hard to the net and making alot of nice plays, so is Kane and plenty of other players…their confidence is definitely building and i think they will only get stronger! lets go USA!!! USA girls play Canada tonight for the gold, so maybe we can get 2 gold medals out of hockey!

Sorry buddy but no one is beating our Canadian girls[/quote]
True story. The USA girls are a bunch of primadonnas who think they’re rock stars in sport no one wants to watch. Their coverage on the back check sucks, and the discipline isn’t there. I guess that’s what happens when you win three straight world championships. But basically they play like NBA players.

The US and Canadian women’s level of play has grown immensely since 1998 debut of the olympic sport. They are actually watchable now - sort of… not really. But better I guess.

As for the cheap play, the girls never have to vouch for their actions. They wear cages, they can’t hit, and they can’t fight. The men know better because they can get laid out, fucked up, and targeted even when they return to the NHL. They police themselves. The women can do whatever they want with no justice. Stupid as hell that they don’t give out more penalties after the whistle to keep that in check.

As for the men;
I’m calling the Finish upset the USA. Kipper vs. Miller in the nets is the story of this game. I think the Fins have the number of team USA tomorrow. Slovaks give Canada more trouble than anyone expected. Canada eeks it out to face the Fins.

The men’s tournament is so close it’s going to be amazing watching the last four games!

It is almost maddening to see them throw gloved punches at caged faces. Again, like a AA high school hockey game. Its all Haley Wickenhisers fault for playing pro in Europe. Now all these girls think they are men. Dont get me wrong, good for her, but I know as a hockey player, at whatever level, I HATE playing against women. You always hold up, you always play softer. I mean Haley got rubbed out by Dion Phaneufs brother (15 years old) in a scrimmage last ye

I found it pretty exciting and fairly fun to watch, but man, I didn’t think they’d look so sloppy. Lower power aside, their stick handling, passing, shooting(hesitate much?), and general awareness(except for our goalie) was shockingly below what I was expecting.

Haha, only in Canada:

Oops!

Yeah, they should have kept that in the dressing room, oops.

It should be mentioned that the 18 year old is from Quebec and the legal drinking age there is 18 so although she is underage in BC, the age would not be an issue in her home province.

I’m wondering if they’ll get fined for smoking indoors! haha

I dont get what the “Only in Canada” thing is about… If you read the article its the IOC (which stands for INTERNATIONAL Olympic Committee) is gonna investigate it. Canada has pretty much said while they dont condone the actions they arent gonna do anything about it. They will just tell them to next time not be so open about it.

A bunch of girls smoking cigars and chugging Molson. That’s what its about. Although I was glad to see some Coors Lights in there. Even Canadians love the Silver Bullet!

Dosen’t the IOC have bigger worries for fuck sakes. Cigars on the ice, the HORROR!

These are the same folks(IOC) that were busted for bribes in the millions.

God I hope there will be no tears in my beers tonight.

Some interesting points in that very few on here gave Slovakia much credit or Finland really. I still say it’s a US-Canada final, the US has a physical and leadership edge on Finland, and Canada is coming of a beatdown of Russia and has Mike Babcock to channel that.
btw that loss to the US “cuts like a knife”
signed
Canadian Prime Minister Bryan Adams

And don’t worry Americas Hat, I think you will win the gold, too much talent to overcome.
So don’t worry you’ll get to keep hockey along with Canadian denim tuxedos, mullets, flannel and round bacon

Game just started. US is up 1-0 already. Fin goalie made a major blunder.

3-0 now!

Jesus 4-0 now.

edit: eek, 6-0. I’m starting to feel bad for the other guys now.
