Men's Olympic Hockey

I really think USA has a great chance to get a gold, or a silver, but i know they can pull off a gold…Miller is playing sick, Kessel is pushing the puck hard to the net and making alot of nice plays, so is Kane and plenty of other players…their confidence is definitely building and i think they will only get stronger! lets go USA!!! USA girls play Canada tonight for the gold, so maybe we can get 2 gold medals out of hockey!

YESSSSSSSSSSS!

Richie is playing alot better as the tourney goes on as well.

Canada better not look too far ahead.

This caliber of hockey is amazing to watch. The passes are tape to tape with so much velocity. If you don’t watch hockey much It’s hard to appreciate how hard those passes are coming, and the accuracy is incredible. My slap shot isn’t as hard as those passes lol.

Good tough win for the US as well!..Sometimes those grinding wins can work in your favour down the road.

Wow what an ass kicking, congrats Canada.

Well done Canada. Yzerman must have given those princesses a good talking too. I had Russia pegged as a gold medal contender. If the Russian coach keeps stepping on his dick, he is going to end up in a gulag.

To add, Canada stepped up their physical game. How many big hits did you see last night! Puck support was perfect as well. Canada cycled the puck better this time around and the key players ie. Nash and Thornton started to use their size along the boards.

I have no doubt in my mind if Canada comes out hitting again like last night, the Slovaks and hopefully the Americans will have a tough time defending. Momentum has a lot to do with hockey games and I think Canada just peaked at the right time.

Miller vs Luongo.

Big, physical and skilled. Canada is gonna be tough to beat again.

Still rooting U.S.

What a relief! I was worried.

Goaltending has been key in this tournament. The Swiss would have lost 5 or 6 to zip if Hiller wasn’t playing out of his mind (and a bit of help from the posts and clock). If the US medals, Miller is my team MVP for sure.

Ditto - I can’t believe how many net minders have been hit and how many have been miss. Nabokov’s performance last night, or lack thereof, was unfathomable.

Finland will kick some US ass tomorrow.

say goodnight ladies, our boys finally realized they’re in vancouver

I bet the US team wishes they were playing the Slovacs instead of the Swiss.

I don’t. I think the Slovacs are entirely underrated. The amount of heart in their forwards I guess is in question. But looking at their roster they really aren’t as bad as people would like to think. They did come from the pool of death, and scored and upset on russia. That wasn’t an accident either, look at their lineup. The Hossa brothers, Chara, Gaborik, Demitra, Satan, Svatos, Zednik. They’re not bad. Far from it. I guess their back end is the only thing in question, which is understandable.[/quote]

Holy crap, they have Satan on their team. Everyone is screwed.

I LOL’ed

big win for Canada, hoping for a Canada vs USA final so we can dominate them

I could not believe how bad the Russians played. While the Canadian team did play well, the Russian team just didn’t even show up. They couldn’t make a pass if their lives depended on it last night. And Ovechkin was not playing like he had earlier. His speed wasn’t there and his physical play was non-existent. Don’t know what happened.

And leaving Nabokov in goal after the first period was bad enough, but letting him stay in there and let two more go past him was the nail in the coffin. there was no way that the russians even playing their best would have put 7 up on Canada. Oh well, hopefully we see a Canada-USA rematch in the final for the gold.

My favorite hockey player name.

BTW WestCoast, I had the US game Tivoed yesterday so I could watch when I got home from work. Then, like an idiot I clicked on this thread and saw you posted the final score. So I was pissed. Got home and watched the Tivoed game anyway, found out my damn Tivo cut off the last half of the 3rd, so you are redeemed.

Best name in the tourney and in hockey is cleary

29 Norway - Thor Vikingstad.

I’m looking desperately for a jersey lol

I couldn’t believe how bad Russia played on defense last night. Nabokov let some pretty easy goals in but gawd Canada was able to excute 3-4 pass plays with out any interference all night. Canada looked really percise but Russia didn’t put a body or a stick in any of the passing lanes or really fight for position around the net on defense. I don’t know what you can read into thi…Canada played a good game, but Russia didn’t show up.
