He isn’t simply a dumbass. In most sitcoms they own a business, have a nicely sized house, kids in private school and two or three nice cars. The exception to this, is the Roseanne sitcom.

Sorry, you are so right. the guy makes six figures but somehow he is the idiot, but the housewife is some nobel prize winner.

Also true, we’re such idiots but somehow we pay for everything and have invented everything, but still somehow they are so superior.
But at least we don’t call our guy friends four times in one night because we have self imposed relationship difficulties. We call our guy friends to find out when the game is on, if they have enough beer for the game, when we are leaving for hunting, dishing, nudie bar, or when we have a kid.
