Two years ago I had mildly elevated ALT on my hep function panel. After about 6 months, unfounded ultrasounds, CT scans and liver biopsy the ALT returned to normal. I sometimes have RUQ discomfort. I have also been experiencing frequent urination and have mildly abnormal pulmonary function tests. Years ago I had pneumonia twice as well as mono. I also have a lactose sensitivity.
Doctors cant figure out what caused the elevated LFTs.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on? Maybe some underlying infection/virus/bacteria?

Find different doctors.
Mildly elevated liver function is NORMAL in people who train hard and eat accordingly. It simply means that your liver is working more… because it has more work to do!
I am of course talking about mild elevation, nothing extreme.
After further research, I am starting to believe that this could be an ulcer. Or at least an H.pylori infection . I have many of the symptoms including the fatigue from not sleeping well.

Maybe a medical professional can answer this one. Could a h. pylori infection cause a temporary rise in liver ALT?[/quote]
Yes
h.pylori (and more common h.hepaticus) can release toxins that enter the liver through the portal tract and cause hepatocellular damage
but helicobacter infections are quite easy to detect using a antigen essay (blood/stool) or urea breath test (not widely available, but gets results on the same day)
