I was under the impression that gemma protein is going to get more popular as whey becomes too expensive, due to the demand for dairy by a certain country.
Great thread! Hope you are still plugging away with your training and vegan diet. Looking forward to the updates.
Ok, after 1 month here are my new numbers on my 3 main lifts.
I did change my goals a bit. Instead of lifting the same weight and increasing my reps, I decided to keep the reps low and increase the weight (doing 3 set each). Im listing my weights and reps from 1 month ago as my “old lift” and the 1 month later lift just below that. So after 1 month:
Old Squat 315 x 4/4/4
New Squat 365 x 4/4/4
Old Bench 225 x 4/4/4
New Bench 245 x 4/5/4
Old Deadlift 315 x 6/6/6
New Deadlift 365 x 5/6/6
Im very happy with my progress. Still “tweaking” the diet which I post eventually.
One thing that is happening with me I find interesting, and the olny reason Im sharing this is because I may have to do with T levels, my sex drive is actually increasing and Im just plan feeling more alive. I have not felt this way for years.
Awesome! Thanks for the update. Can’t wait to get more details on the nutrition.

Hey so whatever happened with this vegan experiment??
how were the gains with no meat?
Yeah - what’s going on? Progress?
Conclusion, vegan diets suck for weight lifting. I’d like to be proved wrong though.
This is exactly what I posted in the “Mistakes” thread in TCA.
I went vegan 2 years during college when I needed meat/fish/poultry/dairy the most. I was a rower and a hockey player. I should have been making gains in the off seasons that just didn’t materialize.
When I added meat back in my gains took off.
I certainly hope others do better-- I won’t be doing that again.
