If you follow baseball I’m sure you’ve heard about Mark McGwire admitting to steroid usage. An individual claims to have supplied the following directions to him and I was wondering what the forum thought of it.
In 2005, the New York Daily News reported that Wenzlaff supplied steroids to McGwire and outlined the drug recipe he provided him: a one-half cc of testosterone cypionate every three days, one cc of testosterone enanthate per week, and three-fourths cc of equipoise and Winstrol V every three days.
Good, bad or ugly?
Also, a couple of more hilarious quotes:
“Let me put it to you this way: If Paris Hilton was to take that array, she could run over Dick Butkus,” Wenzlaff was quoted as saying by the network
Wenzlaff also said he thinks the combination of drugs he provided McGwire would’ve helped his hand-eye coordination.
It’s certainly nothing outlandish as far as dosages go but it’s not a well conceived cycle at all. That’s assuming he’s using stuff at typical concentrations. Around the 200-250mg/ml for the oil based drugs and 50mg/ml for the water based.
Drugs wont improve hand eye coordination by themselves. Drugs will increase bat speed. Giving the batter a slightly longer amount of time to decide whether to swing or not. But a batter facing a 90mph fastball has 4/10th of a second to decide whether to swing or take and as someone who plays baseball you’ll have a tough time convincing me that steroids will have a dramatic effect on such a small scale of performance.

I always thought that the steroids turned twos or threes into homers. If your normally batting and hitting the fence, take roids and crack it into the stands, right?

Or so the argument goes… still gotta work for it.[/quote]
Why aren’t you out there hitting double and triples then, if it’s that easy?
As someone who has played baseball before, I agree with Bonez.

You missed the part where I said “Or so the argument goes… still gotta work for it.”
why use cyp E3D but use Enth only once a week…it makes very little sense to anyone that knows anything about gear.
I generally assume anything you hear about a pro athlete or pro BB cycle is total bullshit. He also said that he took the juice to heal up injuries…right…and it is just a coincidence that your forearms are as big as most people’s neck.
If you add muscle you get stronger…you get stronger and you hit the ball farther…you hit the ball farther and you hit more homeruns…end of story. It’s not gonna make someone who can’t hit the ball into a homerun king but it will make a homerun king into the greatest homerun king of all time. he may have used them to heal injuries but you can’t tell me it didn’t get him more homeruns on his stats sheet.

The problem with that logic is that it takes more than just ‘hitting the ball hard’ to hit a home run.
Have you ever even stood at the plate while someone throws a 95+ MPH ball? How bout a ball that moves in directions physics shouldn’t allow?
I know I haven’t. What I have done was closer to 90 MPH, and it showed me how short the reaction time really is.
There is plenty more to hitting home runs than just being strong and anabolics. Bat speed, right pitch, hand eye coordination, flexibility. The list goes on not to mention the 95 mph drop down to 73 mph speeds. Crazy. Just have to be a good hitter first to even crack the show. Anabolics are just the icing on the cake to make someone stronger and possibly cosmetically different. Training hard and smart are keys as well. God bless!
I’m not saying that it is going to make someone magically hit the ball when they can’t.
I am saying it will make someone who can already hit the ball hit it a little farther (because they are stronger) and a little more often (because they have a slightly faster bat speed). McGuire was an amazing baseball player with a gift for hitting the ball but if you think his stats didn’t improve because he juiced (which I am sure was one of many things he was doing to try to gain an edge) then you are fooling yourself.
Pro/Olympic sports are a game that is seperated by hundreths of a second…the guys with even a slight edge are going to win more often…look at sprinters, if they can shave even .05 seconds off a 100 meter dash it can be the difference between winning and losing…it certainly won’t ever put me on the podium but it will make a contender into a winner sometimes.
If you guys think steroids don’t help people to be better at sports you are fucking deluded. yes training and everything else has to be there but it is a big factor (and it is not just cosmetic).
