Mayham Miller...You Suck

Exactly. I’m sure everyone involved can care less about it now and moved on. I thought Coker looked stupid tapping all over the commentator talking to Shields afterwards just to say his crap. The show and talent of Strikeforce was weak, and I heard no Lunatic Fringe.
THIS^^ That announcer looked like a douche trying to cut in there in the post-post fight interview just to say how horrible of a display that brawl was… He looked like an idiot.

.greg.

Well, they are paid to say something

i saw an interview with Oscar deLahoya a while back, and he was asked if people ever picked fights with him…

he simply said “i don’t fight for free.”

those guys are professional athletes…if they wanna prove how tough they are, the they can go fight a war. d-bags…

admbaum are you kidding me… generally I agree with you but fighters challenge other fighters constantly after their fights… Miller was not out of place… it is perfectly understandable for him to go in there and try and hype a fight.

Diaz bros and shield are goons

what is the history with Mayhem and Shields?
2 things:

 1. Mayhem Miller is a funny ass guy, and he likes to always dick around. I’m sure Dana White said something like ‘hype the fight’ and he took it upon his goofy self to do something. Diaz brothers are goons, but Jake Shields is not.
 2. I was under the impression that Shields and Miller were friends. On MTV’s Bully Beatdown (yes, I feel even more retarded than you think I am for mentioning MTV) Jake Shields is one of Miller’s ‘fighters’ that he has take on said bullies. It was my impression that they trained together and were friends because of this.

Anyway, Miller is a funny dude. Give him credit :frowning:

Miller interrupted Jake after he just dominated a legend at least wait until Shields is done talking/

 1. Dana White had nothing to do with that event. That was a Strikeforce event. Dana only runs UFC and WEC events.

 2. They have a history of being friends then hating each other then fighting and hating each other more. There is history behind this and I am sure thats why Shields shoved him right away.

I didnt like seeing but this shit happens in combat sports. I have seen fights in the ring all the time in boxing. It just tends to happen. Doesnt make it right. And what kills MMA is its not an established sport. Its not even legal in every state yet so this doesnt help. If it was an established sport like hockey where fights happen then I dont think it would be a big deal.

Touche, I didn’t realize it was Elite XC. I unfortunately wasn’t able to see this live… along with the events of the last… year? I’m sure, however, they were told to hype the match. The Diaz brothers always have been and always will be short tempered goons who think they deserve all the respect in the world, but won’t show it. Not at all surprising to me they were behind a huge brawl.

And yes, it sucks pretty bad having it be illegal in Connecticut. We get an event every now and then because of Mohegan Sun (Indian Reservations can make their own rules, I guess?).

Again, apologize for not checking into that, but the thought was still the same. Owners probably asked for a little hype, and Mayhem is a prankster that the Diaz brothers didn’t really find too funny, so it would seem. Lol
Russaldo wrote:

I agree that was total bullshit, but who the hell is that pussy kicking Miller while hes being restrained by like 6 guys?
I’ll tell you one thing, I don’t recognize him but I would guess Miller does. That guy deserves a little one on one shot with Miller. See how he fares.

I don’t know how many people caught this but Diaz thing was treated more as it should have been, a bunch of fighters already worked up from the night getting a little out of hand.

The media has taken this Mayhem thing and made it ridiculous. I hate that little candy assed announcer (I know he has history in the sport but hate him so much I can’t even remember his name). I blame that douche nozzle for his whole approach to it.

If you watch Shield’s response initially, he kind of smiles and taps him in the belly like “Hey, what’s up?” Then Mayhem said something else and Shields pushed him. Big fuggin deal. What did you guys expect him to do? Cower? He just went 5 rounds for Christ sake. He was amped as hell.

If anybody should be pissed it’s Miller for being held on the ground while he get’s soccer kicked repeatedly.

This won’t to a fuggin thing for the “tarnishment of MMA.”

If you don’t get what went down, you should probably stick with tennis.

Anyone for Diaz vs. Mayhem? I think Diaz would whoop that ass.

It would be a hell of a fight.
drewh wrote:

that would be interesting as a grudge match kind of thing, but Mayhem is a 2nd tier fighter at best. Either of the Diaz bro’s would eat his lunch and ask for seconds.

Umm…no. Nate is too fucking small and has pillow hands. Miller has fought at 170,but he would have Nate’s number.

Now,Nick vs. Mayhem…yes, that sounds interesting. It would most likely happen at catchweight. But I will say that Mayhem would be tough to finish even for Nick.

I think Nick would take Mayhem easy, bad style matchup. He’d have him on the feet that’s for sure.
Mayhem’s problem is that he’s not exceptional at anything. That fact tends to keep guys out of ‘first-tier’ territory.
I think Nate could give him a fight honestly, but the size advantage would be a deal breaker.

So you don’t think Nate could hold his own standing and get to work on the ground?

The thing I like about that match-up is they are both pretty emotional fighters (even though Mayhem claimed in a post-fight interview he is working on that). Throw in some bad blood and it could be interesting.

Yea Mayhem was about 5 seconds from choking shields out when they fought last time and gave a much better fight than than Henderson did and he has no chance?

I would like to see Diaz vs Mayhem, Nick has fought at 185 in the past so I don’t see what the big deal on that would be.

Nope. Nate’s stand-up sucks in comparison to Nick. Mayhem would have to really make bad mistakes in order for Nate to get him on the ground.

However second-tier or clownish Mayhem may be…its a mistake to underestimate him. Trust me.

Hmm. Interesting.

I actually don’t have a problem with his persona other than it almost seems better suited for x-games crazy bmx or skate board rider than an MMA fighter. I think he’s a genuine guy. That’s typically good enough for me…

If Jacare couldnt sub him I dont know how one of the Diaz brothers would. Mayhem can fight he just acts like a pro wrestler.
