May Photo/Video Check In

A continuation of the check-in thread for May(below is copied and pasted from April’s thread thanks to BlueCollarTr8n.)

Chris C. describes the idea better than I could:
This is an idea to improve the forum community, but this thread absolutely does not reflect any type of “official” T-Nation site membership requirement. It’s an idea that’s been percolating for a while, and I’m just some schmoe on the forum who figured I’d start a thread about it.

It’s a check-in, not a call-out. The idea is to improve the sense of community and remind us all that, no matter what we post about here and what initially brought us to the site, the one common trait that every forum member should have is a consistent drive to attack our training and see results, period.

I’m asking for all forum members to post a current snapshot of themselves. And let’s try not to get too distracted or off-topic with critiques of what gets posted. There should end up being more posts with images attached, than not.

If your goals are physique-based - you want to get bigger or get leaner or get bigger and leaner - toss up a current pic.

If your goals are performance-based - the powerlifter, the fighter, the Olympic lifter, etc. - you’re not excused. You’re invited to post a short video clip from a recent training session.

I’m just asking you to participate and play a role in improving the quality of the forum as a whole by reinforcing the idea that T-Nation members know how to do more than just rack up high post counts in the non-training-related sections of the site.

Concerned about staying anonymous? Sites like http://www.pixlr.com and http://www.fotoflexer.com are free Photoshop-like websites that make it ridiculously simple to edit/blur/obscure your face, identifying tattoos, birthmarks, background detail, or anything else that might threaten your anonymity. So, no excuses.

Alright fools, let’s keep this going and everyone get something in this week for the start of May, then post progress throughout or at the end of the month.

I’ll start. From last night, today is day 3 of GSD. Ill post another after my first refeed mid month and another at the end.

I was under the impression this was supposed to be done every 6 months

Ha, that was the original intention, mostly to keep from saturating the forum and having people be like, “Meh, this thread again.” They’re already getting gradually less replies each time. Aug: 17 pages, Dec: 11 pages, Feb: 9 pages, last month: 8 pages.

Also, longer downtime gives a chance to make some drastic progress whether they’re training for appearance, strength, or something else. Not everyone’s going to make visible fat loss/muscle gains in a month or make major strength increases.

But it is what it is, no big deal. I’m not knocking a chance for people to show up and post. There’ve been enough threads recently with people busting each others’ chops about what they do or don’t really look like anyway. I’ll throw something up when I can, but nothing impressive or noteworthy is really on the books any time soon.

FWIW, Waittz your shoulders are looking pretty good. Matty, it’s crazy how much your triceps are jumping out in that new avatar pic.

Thanks Chris…I would think 3 times a year would suffice so guys and gals can show their progress, every month is a bit much…but no matter how much its done its good for the site.

Yeah I agree. Great thread however lets keep it to 3 times a year max.

Agree. OP, I guess you’ll just have to waittz a few more months for the next one.

Oops, guess I missed the memo on that

I thought this was a 3 monthly exercise. I am going to boycott this thread.

Doing this every month kind of beats the point.

Get in line. He already has an old man that does that for him.

Oh yeah. I forgot about that. Uh, never mind. I don’t want that geriatric old fart’s sloppy seconds. If I can’t have the Bird’s beak all to myself then I don’t want it at all.

Different people have different goals, schedules, and deadlines; I like the idea of a Monthly check-in myself.

Surely the RMP section or even Performance Photos would cater for those people?
