Maximizing Post Contest Growth

Nice work brother!

Here are some from my contest. I placed first in Men’s Novice AND Men’s Open, there were 9 competitors in the latter.

Here’s one from the overall Open, on the left.

Center-stage.

Boom baby!

Thank you much Stu. My leg training for this show really took a different approach cos I had my left femur broken last October so had to go through recovery, rehab, get back to regular (what I consider regular) training and then contest prep. I wasn’t able to count on being able to move heavy weight for this prep. BUT…it made me a better bodybuilder and I had to train smarter.

Now that this contest is over and done with time to really get my legs even with strength, firing rate and all else us T-Men focus on.

Great work considering you couldn’t move heavy weights! What’s your plan of attack for legs post-contest?

thanks man. my plan is to lower the tension in legs, shit, they are tight. roll the shit out of them and increase flexibility. get back into some max strength (but now that means probably lowest 4-5 reps vs going 1-2 like I’ve done in past); even out unilateral strength while using sets and reps protocols that will add as much size as can handle.

These wheels need another 3 inches I’d say. I would love to have it be as hard as can be to find jeans that actually fit, heh-heh.

How is your post contest period going for ya? I was freaking 4-5 days after the show cos I rebounded with water bad…30lbs in 4 days. Felt disgusting. Now I am regulated though and can honestly say I’ve never been as big and lean as I am right now so it has all worked out.

Good plan, I’m going to be doing a lot of FR and mobility also. I need hams and overall leg size! I jumped up to 193, 18 pounds in four days. I’m going to get regimented with my diet this Monday – I’m supposed to do a photo shoot mid-dec and if I can get to 185 I’d be solid.

Awesome shape SimS!

Hams and overall leg development…yeah, I hear ya. I want these things grotequely huge on my frame. A girlfriend of mine I was talking with who really isn’t savvy to our world asked why I’d add size to my legs likkke that and I responded with A- I want to and B- I need to. People from mainstream society have hard time grasping what we do.

Your rebound pretty mild, good on ya. And good luck with the photo shoot man. I don’t see any reason why you won’t be able to be solid @ weight you said. Ought to be a good off season for ya. Time to grow galore!

The majority will never understand why we do what we do. Sometimes, I wonder why I do what I do. Then I look at the hedonistic lifestyle that many of my peers live in and I’m reminded exactly why I bust my ass in the gym. I want to know exactly what my genetic potential is.

Here I thought the rebound was a ton, I’m sitting at the same weight I started my prep at. It feels great to have already decided to compete again next fall, now I know exactly how much time I have and what I need to do to improve. All the best with your off season!
