Alright starting this one out with a rant. People who insist on talking to you when your at the gym in the middle of lifting. Yeah buddy thats why I have head phones on. Im here to work my muscles NOT my mouth. I save the mouth workout for the ladys in the bedroom. Also people who wear biking gloves while running or stretching. Why the fuck do you need gloves running its not like your hands are goin to devolop calouses. Actually the only time I can see the use of gloves is doing deadlifts or cleans/snatches. Other then that gloves are for sissys. While Im on the point Wrist straps. If you need wrist straps then you should be working more on your forearms and grip. Its your bodys way of saying its not ready for the weight. I saw a guy using wrist straps for incline dumbbell press with 70lbs!!! WTF.

Ha, I saw a guy a couple days ago wearing gloves while doing pull-ups, and deadlifting 135…My second favorite thing, which isn’t AS bad, but still: the barbell pad while doing squats. I saw a kid doing 135 or so with the pad, yet another dude failed to do 315, but wasn’t using the maxi-pad.
I start Phase II today, can’t wait! I hope to see some booty shorts/spandex…

i think that thibs will probably agree that for bodybuilding straps are acceptable. Especially for people with overpowering arms, it helps you fell the back better. Anyway i need straps if im going to deadlift, especially in the 400’s.
so i think, if you can deadlift more with straps, go for it.

Ha, I’m glad you liked the maxi-pad. I agree with using straps with heavy weight too. I have to use them for snatch grip deads and sumo, and usually conventional deads when maxing out. It just seems silly with light weight and/or exercises that you shouldn’t need the extra help on…

ok I see your point on the use of wrist straps if your doing a shit ton of weight like that. But people who do use wrist straps should stop giving me shit for only going down to 3" above my chest on bench.

lol maxi pad Ive never heard that one I normaly call it the bitch pad. I used it during the first few times I did jump squats. Once I got use to it I ditched the pad. Another thing that drives me nuts is people who lifts with belts. And Im not talking about squats Im talking about all their lifts curls and all. What the hell would be the point.
And yes booty shorts are awesome. Good luck with phase II Im sure youll like it.
Ok I am fucking exausted. Woke up at 6am and had a ride along with the fire department from 8-5. Lifted with them at 9am. Just did light arms nothing really heavy so not to through off the program. Went on a few calls and then played basketball with them for like a hour. Some things I notice while playing.
-
I suck ass at basketball
-
I may suck at basketball but god damn can I jump high.
Ok Im about to pass out on the keyboard so Im goin to put down todays lift.

Actually it should be a bit higher. Normally we 1 rep = around 5-10lbs on the bench press. So 3 reps with 285 in a somewhat fatigued state would equal a max of 300-315lbs… probably more because you were slightly fatigued when you did the 285x3
