Matt Kroc Transitions to Janae Kroc

Chushin, there is a difference to me in laws meant to advantage “victim” groups and the removal of laws meant to disadvantage them. So I am for desegregation, for example, without being for much of what affirmative action represented. I hope that makes sense. Removing impediments to behaviors that are already occurring (common sense tells me that TG use the bathroom matching outward appearance) does not strike me as removing rights from some to award to others. A good analogy would be to women in the military. I believe very strongly in the removal of all barriers. What I do not believe in is the lowering of standards to encourage their participation.

I would consider myself Libertarian on the matter rather than liberal.

Enjoy your visit!

I have said nothing of the sort. I have said that there is risk in particular for MTF TG people in the men’s room. I have said that I don’t see a change in the safety of restrooms otherwise if the change is made, because people intent on criminal behavior will find a way, whether that way is to dress as a female (without legal backing or with) and shove a woman into a stall to rape her or to lure her through OKCupid. I said, and I’m sure you can read so I’m not sure why I have to keep repeating: I don’t see a significant increase in threat.

Why don’t you strengthen your own argument instead of distorting mine? This will be my last repetition of this particular statement.

Is this a joke? What am I battling aside from the knee-jerk reactions of one or two people on the internet? My self-worth is not tied up in the “battle.” I’m not even engaged in it. I get warm feelings from people being nice to people who’ve done them no harm. Other than that I get warm feelings from my family, my friends, and my work. I have said over and over again that I am not a political creature. I am simply disinclined to let pass what I see as hypocrisy without noting it. Yours is impressive.

I’m way behind on my paperwork and am in the middle of a house addition, so I’m going to bow out as well. I think I’ve said the same things enough times that my position is clear.

But before I go… I am one person. I have one vote, one voice, and one conscience. I don’t speak for the multitudes, as they are able to - and should - speak for themselves if they have strong feelings about anything.

I frankly find it rather - disturbing - that you feel you speak for millions of women.

I just speak for me, so “I” seems the best representation of my thoughts, beliefs, and experiences. Perhaps you should peek out from behind those millions of skirts and speak for yourself, too.

Excuse me, you may not have noticed it, but you’re making an empirical claim here (citing what ‘millions of people want’ in support of your position). The difference between us is, you have a propensity for simply creating your ‘facts’ out of thin air (unless you have a study supporting this claim concerning millions of disgruntled Bathroom-Americans, in which case I apologize). Like 47% of Americans, you have a tendency to make up statistics on the spot when it suits your rhetorical purposes.

As I suspected. For you, this really has nothing to do with “Complexity, Inequity and Impracticality”–those are all canards, obscuring the actual issue for you. Because even if all those were shown to be non-issues, you would still object to the law. Why? “Because it’s dumb.”

Like you last night, I’m busy earning a living at the moment, so maybe later.

Am I in a vex? It’s funny, I don’t feel in a vex. I’m happy enough with the current restroom situation and expect to remain so regardless, despite being acutely aware that danger potentially lurks around every corner. (As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.)

But back to my own words, which you seem to have broken into convenient bits, I said:

I would imagine that the intent of the hoped-for changes will be to legitimize and de-stigmatize TG people, with acceptance being the long term goal. I’m not privy to their agenda, understand. This is merely my best guess.

Imagining the intent of people whose agenda I am not privy to hardly seems like vexation-fueled battle. In fact, I’ve said several times that I find this a non-issue for those of us not on the front line, with little to no anticipated discernable change. Here again I’m sort of laughing to think that my laissez faire attitude on the matter - my determined non-intervention! - feels militant to you. You really are a sensitive flower!

In fact, I did skim one of your linked articles above and had the thought that I used to consider you more worldly than me, I suppose due to your sexual adventuring, but I am beginning to think you have been and still are very sheltered. You seem to have no real idea of the world around you. You MUST know that parents and grandparents screw up all sorts of kids, and that someone somewhere is doing this every single day. Many someones, in fact. Should I start posting links to gender-typical victims of parental screwery?

I read both of push’s articles, and I’ve read other writing by that author. Very sad story of child abuse, and a transition that didn’t help. I can see why he’s become an advocate. I think he’s motivated to try to help people avoid that. I know there’s a neurologist who was the head of the TG program at Johns Hopkins who’s also written some dissenting opinions on the issue, based on his experience. Someone put links up to some of his statements earlier in the thread.

BTW, I hope everyone here is reading all of the links I posted, and all of you are formulating a thoughtful reply to each, and then preparing to answer questions about what you thought of them. If not, get ready to feel my wrath.

DALLAS: Transgender ‘woman’ caught taking pictures of underage girls at Target

DALLAS, TX 4/25: A transgender ‘woman’ by the name of James Goebel was
caught snapping photos of underage girls using the restroom at a Dallas
area Target store Monday morning.

One of the victims, a 13 year old girl, said she could hear someone’s
iphone camera snapping and was curious, so she looked under the stall
only to see the camera phone in her face. She ran out and told her
father, who held the door shut until police arrived.

When authorities arrived, they arrested 28 year old James Goebel and
searched her phone for evidence. They found over 700 photos of young
girls using the restroom, from dates ranging in the past 5 months.
Goebel has been charged with possession of child pornography, intent
to distribute child pornography, sexual assault of a minor and indecency
with a minor. These charges along with prior felony convictions could
land Goebel in prison for 20 years, as well as a lifelong label as a
child predator.

Dallas’s local LGBT community has come together to stand in defence
with Goebel, claiming she should not be persecuted because she was “born
a pedophile and therefore can not change her sexual orientation”. This
comment comes from the leader of Dallas’s LGBT Aqua Squad, Dorothy
Wright.

The United States does not currently view pedophilia as a sexual
orientation, but this is something that Dallas LGBT Aqua Squad is hoping
to change.
“We will be remembered in history like MLK for the work
we are doing today. We have no doubt in our minds that within 5 years,
all sexual orientations, including pedophila will be decriminalized.
Weed also” – Dorothy Wright
Their endeavors have been met with fierce criticism, but Wright stands strong, saying:
“We aren’t gonna let these pansy pistol packing, scared
to fight with their own hands, scared of anyone different than them,
sister *#!%ing, small [penis] looking ass redneck losers get in our way”

Ha! I have read every single one, naturally, and would have spoken about them both individually and as a grouping, but I am busy organizing my own article links, preparatory to posting them.

For the record, I support a waiting period and the counseling requirement before access is given to HRT or more extreme measures for people transitioning. There’s a lot there emotionally, and it’s a big decision. I just hope the professionals dealing with the population are competent and not pursuing agendas of their own.

I also support a waiting period for divorce, and come to think of it would support one for marriage as well, for the same reason. Big, emotionally loaded decision.

So there you have it. My thoughts on waiting periods and big decisions.

This is either a sign of the end times or an onion article.

Wow. I was all “yay!” reading about the door held shut, the arrest, and the potential long sentence, then I got to the LBGT community part and went all sad trombone. Dorothy Wright sounds like - I don’t know, a fucking idiot, I guess. And a bad person.

I would like to think that “Dallas’s local LGBT community has come together to stand in defence
with Goebel” is misleading and it’s just a group of lunatics coming together, not the larger “community.”
