I was thinking of adding mass gainer post workout but noticed its high in cholesterol (45g) though the saturated fat (1.5g) seems low. I’m trying to eat as clean as possible. Any thoughts?
The maltodextrin content is more what I would be concerned with. Most gainers are just cheap carbs and low quality protein.
Dude if you’re trying to eat clean, mass gainer should be the last thing on your mind. Most of them are filled with low-quality ingredients, tons of added sugars, artificial flavors, and oils just to bump up the calorie count. Some have as much sugar as a soda - definitely not ideal post-workout if you’re aiming to stay healthy. You’re better off making your own gainer using oats, nut butter, banana, whey protein, and milk. That way you control the quality of what you’re putting in your body while still getting the calories you need.
Yeah im think im gonna try the oat powder and whey and see what that gets me
You failed to mention your current weight and your current caloric intake.
Its like asking online if you should have yourself sterilized without mentioning if you have kids or not.
Have you given this a read?
Impossible.
Unless your severely underweight… you dont really need it.
i was doing a bulk with mutant mass, it is a load of junk but it was good as a breakfast 30 mins before a workout for energy, dietary cholesterol doesnt add blood lipids!!!
For me, mass gainers work as fast fuel before training, especially in the morning, and cholesterol from food isn’t the main driver of blood lipid levels. To stay balanced, I add a consistent 30-minute daily cardio routine like BetterMe recommends, which supports endurance, calorie burn, and overall health while still training hard.
