Mass Building for Skinny Ectomorph

Lol i thanks for the suggestions and im here for advice…secound i am going to force myself to eat about 3,500 calories a day. Im Set and third jsuk i can squat 275 and i know kids smaller than me the squat 3 plates on each side (315). OH and buying that supplement is good fro me because i take 2 scoups (400) calories with 3 cups of milk (450) calories so thats an 850 calorie boost so im not wasting my money. Not trying to start something here i just want advice. and nutella will help me add the calories. Another point idc about my fat cells in the future im tired of this bs skinny stuff and i want to beat smack kids up on the field and the matt.

*** Majorly Idk if this affects me but everyone in my family has had thyroid problems but not me and they are currently taking medication could someone explain what my thyroid glan has to do with muscle?

Word?

You have seen less than 16 people pick 275 up off the rack, squat to depth, then rack the weight?
I have seen less than 16, maybe 5 max - if we’re talking about proper form

When I actually thought about this, this is probably true for me too, IF I don’t count lifting in high school. Since I returned to lifting after a number of years running, I’ve been in university gyms where very few people squat at all, and of those very few squat to depth. And with those that squat to depth, there are a number who never progress in weight.
Hmmm… If I subtracted power lifting meets… maybe?
In normal “24-hour” type gyms definitively.

^What Anus Bleach said. I was 130 in HS and now I’m 208. Lift, eat, sleep. Go easy on the alcohol and listen to your body. If you really have a 275x5 squat at 6’1 167 then you’ve got some strength. In my whole life, I’ve seen maybe 10-15 people in the gym who squatted 275 properly. I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt.

If you are on the football team, why not talk to some of the bigger guys on the football team? I’m sure your lineman and linebackers have some size.
IME most high school kids don’t know shit about how to get bigger or stronger. This guy just needs to eat.

1- It is not just how much someone eats.

2- People have genetic and hormonal set points that are difficult or even impossible to change without drugs. Someone who is a bit hyper in the thyroid department, for example, is often going to be skinny no matter how much they eat.

3- Lots of skinny guys are much stronger than lots of built guys.

4- In 10 or 20 years you will have grown into being built and still be lean, while most of your mesomorph football pals will have quickly turned into lardasses during or after college.

5- assuming it is even possible for you

6- it would be a mistake to try to gain fat mass now for short term gain.

7- Those fat cells will never go away for the rest of your life and they will always make you hungry if you try to starve them for “cutting”.

8- It is better to just stay cut.
I assume that everyone here realizes that this post is absolutely retarded. But this misinformation is so bad it is insulting to me, so I will address each point.

1- Yes it is. Gaining is a very simple math problem. If you consume more calories then you expend, you will gain weight.

2- This is not true. I was diagnosed (meaning I went to the doctor, I wasn’t just skinny) with an overactive metabolism as a child, and have passed out from lack of nutrients when I had eaten within the past 2 hours several times. I used to be 170 pounds at 6’2", and now I’m 218lbs. You know what changed? I ate more food. And when that stopped working, I ate more then that.

3- No. Just no.

4- This has nothing to do with being an “ectomorph” or anything else. Most people will be fat after college no matter what, because most people are fat.

5- It is. It’s a simple math problem.

6- Noone told this kid to get fat.

7- Your body already has a finite number of fat cells. When you gain fat, these fat cells get larger. When you lose fat, these fat cells get smaller. You do not add fat cells, and fat cells are not what make you hungry.

8- No it’s not. It’s better to get bigger and stronger and better at football and wrestling, because that is what the OP’s goal is.

Most of the people who wrote that are doubtfully even as muscular as you are now.

The “must always stay ripped” crowd doesn’t seem to grow that much.

I go to Golds Gym. I saw a reasonably sized guy (5’10 200-210ish) squatting 315 tonight but he was several inches from parallel. Clearly the half squats gave him SOMETHING since his legs were respectable (and he didn’t do much else besides squat, at least that I saw). I’m not an IPF judge but there is an acceptable tolerance, and 90% of squatters in the gym don’t meet it.

To the OP, you’ve got the right attitude. Just eat more and train harder. Liquid calories (olive oil + milk + peanut butter + protein powder in a blender) will change your life.

Shakes like this were a life saver during high school football.
