Masch Needs a New Log

ya, they gave our little daughter some cocktail about 20 min prior to her surgery…not a care in the world.

you’ll be fine!!

Good looking Trap bar DL’s Masch… I have a completely unrelated question though:

I’ve been watching some Womens World Cup and I’ve been noticing that most of the goalies cant jump for shit! lol… I dont know what it is but some of them seem like they couldnt jump 12inches off the ground to save their lives. whats up with that?

pre injury I bet you could jump like a mofo?

(video of my newest jam included… The chorus is so damn catchy!)

this reminded me of Maschy for some reason…

mebbe athleticism combined with raw sexuality and intensity.

Nice Trap bar deads! You look so good when you lift. Hair down, cute hat. I always look like a crazed lunatic. I used to blame having curly hair, but you pull it off so nicely. I will need a new excuse!

Nice work Masch, awesome resolve.

Thanks on the Trap DL props, everyone!

Busy, 2 days sounds about right. That’ll give me one more day to do a little bit of leg work…cool! Thanks for the input.

Aww! Lex! It makes me sad when I hear about the physical difficulties of your past. But look at you now! You’re my freaking hero and role model. And your presence in my world means a lot to me  I look to you (and you’re hilarious outlook on everything) as an example of what can be done and as proof positive. Thanks, girlie, really. And fucking gross re: the screws. You’re nuts!

Techno and Nadia - Thanks! And yeah, as you’ll soon find out, I’m a total pushover. lol! But the logging is good for me, so thanks guyz for the extra push bashfully kicks at dirt

Cupcake of love!! Well, I owe all my bodybuilding to you missy, so thanks again! What kind of split are you doing now btw? I need more ideas to steal from you damnit! And I know, i totally love these pumas - the white and black is totally baller.

Thanks Git! I love that song (for stripping). Don’t get it twisted, training with this injury can be a little sick-making at times. You just have to be uber cognizant of your movements and knee tracking etc. But interestingly, having thus trained with the injury for 3 weeks now, i feel much, MUCH more stable. So i do believe its helped to some capacity.

And thanks Cal, MiMsy and Edgy! Interestingly, also like that Jeep I like to get ridden by guys with mustaches wink, wink

Speaking of mustaches…thanks Greg! That is a pretty sweet jam! Got me “wurking” my booty in my desk chair right now actually - i’ll be adding that one to my ipod rotation fo’ sho! As for the jumping…honestly, i do believe that there is still a lag in how women are trained for sports, so that’s probably why they jump like shit. lol! When I played in college weight lifting wasn’t mandatory and I was all soft and weak. And now here I am 10 years later, stronger, faster and overall a much better player than before. Go figure!

LOL! Sarah, thanks mama. Actually I wear my hair down BECAUSE its curly. I only wash it twice a week and the more I pull it back, the more ratty it gets, so I keep it down as much as I can. lol! So you think I look good, but really, I’m just dirty. haha! Fooled you. And you’re adorbs! Even if you’re a crazy lunatic!

Matty, thanks bro - that means a lot to me. Resolve is a good word

And on that note, will you guys please excuse me while I go manifest a few things…

My surgery WILL be a complete success.

I WILL be in the care of my careful and expert surgeon and his staff and they WILL treat me wonderfully.

My rehabilitation process WILL be easy and comfortable and I will have the best physical therapist in NYC who understands and supports my goals.

I WILL recover from my injury 100%.

I will come back to play soccer, weight lift and Olympic lift better than ever, with newfound physical and mental strength, greater expectations for my physical self.

Edit: Made an edit to my manifesto - no limitations, baby!

That’s the way to go!!

When I had Hernia surgery I thought of the anesthesia as just another recreational “drug” haha but I was celebrating the fact that it was legal and applied by a professional. I was actually exited to find out what it felt like but I just passed out like a fool, owaitz thats whats suppose to happen…I remember laying down in a room and next thing I know I wake up 2 hours later with the surgery completed.

You’re going to be fine!

Currently I’m doing a one body part a day split. I’m loving it so far. Allows me more time to work on things like abs, calves and cardio/conditioning as well. So yay for that.
With my schedule allowing for less me time, I’m enjoying the fact that I can obliterate each muscle to the fullest in the same/less amount of time as before.

Ooh, I have a song for your manifestations:

Lol love the positivity =)

Well then, I’m glad we’re on the same page.

Howzabout writing that manifest out on a card and keeping it in your pocket. Look at it everyday or whenever doubt creeps in.

You gorgeous trap-bar-lifting thing, you! Its GREAT to see you killin’ it despite the slight broken-ness.

I fully support your manifesto and will throw in my best good-healing karma to help success along.

I only wash my hair twice per week too. Its big enough to take a few days to calm down after a good washing. And that’s AFTER the expensive and effective Brazilian keratin treatment. My hair was utterly and completely out of control before the keratin. Seriously, it scared small children.

Yay for manifestation! (waves pom poms)
There’s a lot to be said for medicine but also the mind & the placebo effect.

Don’t worry I can’t wash my hair everyday either, if not it dries it out. I do have to wet it every morning because when I wake up, its a frightful mess, all tangles, fluff bunnies, etc

My heart started to flutter a bit aswell when I clicked on your video. Nice form!

Dont worry about the anaesthesia. It takes 3-4 seconds for you to fall asleep once they prick you with the needle. I remember waking up hungry after my ankle spur surgery. I literally ate 4 lots of sammiches. I had to keep asking the nurse for more, and she kept on providing! I think she liked me.

I had a light skill soccer session 36 hours before my ankle surgery. Wasnt a very intense session. It was more of a celebration of life with me and the ball just before I went under the knife, just incase it was going to be the last time I could make art with the ball. It wasnt the last time. I would atleast rest a good 36 hours before your surgery.

I wouldnt stress too much about the surgery. Im no quack, but it sounds almost routine to me. Relax, and look foward to the sammiches and the “comeback”.

no limits - all you need is time and dedication.

recover swiftly and conquor.

Awesome Maschy Manifesto you will be back better than ever, I have total and the utmost confidence that this little bump will not hold you back.

As long as this stays in tact, you’ll be golden.

Ha! Awesome! Thanks for the song

That’s pretty cool. So what’s the split look like? How many ways are there to train your calves? lol! I also think its cool you added the conditioning. YAY!! If you get on a good diet and keep up with the “cardio” you’ll get shredded! You already are! Can’t wait to see. I’m hoping I lean out some. I gotta keep the diet tight though. grrrr

YAY for the Trap DLs! Looking good! Isn’t that trap bar the bomb? sigh…I’m looking forward to getting reacquainted with mine. I can’t believe you can do them despite the ACL injury. HARDCORE!

About surgery, I’d never been under a general anesthesia before either. The anesthesiologist told me that I take more risk everyday just driving on the 405 freeway…that I was safer on the operating table, than driving my car in LA traffic, something I do all the time. That made me feel better. I get a little nervous every time I fly, and I know that the odds of going down in a fiery plane crash are miniscule.

I remember being wheeled into the OR, and the nurse having me scoot onto the table, looking up at the lights and so forth, and that’s the last thing before I was waking up and it was over. Piece of cake. I got a little bit nauseated when I stood up to get dressed, mooned a couple of nurses :). I’m sure it was a huge thrill! I had to lay down for a few minutes while they gave me more fluids. Then I was out of there. You’re young and healthy and you’re gonna do great, Maschy. The road to recovery is about to begin!

Thanks everyone! You guys are the best! I feel a lot better

Actually Git, I think that is a good idea! Despite all the wonderful anecdotes about going under I still have a bit of trepidation about the anesthesia. I’m going to be fine, i know. But the idea of waking up 2 hours later feeling like it was one seconds is some crazy shit! I may as well go trip my balls off.

But! my boss did his meniscal repair with just local anesthesia (he was defending his dissertation the next day and didn’t want to be out of it) and he said that it was fucking miserable. Bone chilling. So yeah…I think i’ll take the sleepy time.

Bird - nice. I like that! Hmm…I wonder if I’ll crave sammiches when I wake up? And will there be a lovely nurse at my bedside  When I was 8 a stewardess kissed me on my forehead to wake me up for snack time. I’ll never forget that.

Aw Kimba, thank you! I needed that. And the brazilian blowout sounds phenominal! I can’t imagine you with curly hair!

Print!! Happy birthday doll face  May there be many more!

Today I was supposed to do chest and arms, and i did for the most part. But the minute I got in the gym, I was itching to get out. lol! My energy was all off and I’m hormonal. I definitely don’t want to deload though! So it is what it is.

supersetted
Chins - 5x5
feet elevated pushups 4x15 < i read the pushup article so i’ve been keeping an eye on form

DB Incline press - 2x8x35, 7x40, 4x40 < last week i did 3x8x40. i tear it up in week 3!
BW Dips - 6 (lol!)

During the entire workout I couldn’t stop thinking about going shopping. lol! I’ve been super bummed that I can’t wear any of my cute little summer shoes, so I was thinking that I would go buy a pair of new ones! Something practical and cute, none of that super high heel stuff that I usually wear sigh - a low wedge, if you will.

Anyways, the training was sucking and i was antsy to find shoes, so i cut the session short and went to Daffy’s. I said if i see something reasonably priced I’d get it. And lo and behold I found what i was looking for! On my way to pay, i see this kid that works there re-pricing the shoes. I love a bargain, so I take the shoes to him and ask if he can tell me if these are on sale. Just out of curiosity, really. He scans the shoes with his price gun and then says, “No” and i say, “ok, thank you” and then he says, “but they are now” and hands me sale sticker. lol! And I was all, “wow! thanks! that’s so nice of you” and he just said with a laugh “don’t tell anyone i did that.” So sweet! Knocked $15 of my shoes. I told him “i hope someone does something nice for you today too” and left with a smile.

Tomorrow quads - make it happen!

Goodnight peeps

Thanks Puff!! Thank you! That’s right, its going to be fine. Over before I even knew it started. That’s so good for me to hear. I can breathe a bit better now.

And i’m glad you’re recovering well! I got the trap idea from you actually! I saw that you did them and I do really like them! Its a bit “Squat like” - i think greg said that once. I come on to my tippy toes though, I wonder why i do that? drive through the heels!

ps. I bet it was a pleasure to be mooned by you :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
