What a coincidence I would like to play with a guy who has a physique like that dude or this one. A little s+p for you too. Maschy
so what you are saying is i need to cut the carbz???
I have no idea how one gets definition, I’m trying to hold onto my curves while growing muscles. ![]()
I’m just going to reply to your posts with pics okay.
Maschy withdrawal is horrible, Id like some Maschy right now, annnd my boss just past as I type this and I can only imagine what he is thinking of me right now…its worth it however, if we could get a masch log back on this MFer.
Hi guys!
So wait, I just can’t use this thread full of win as a log? But its got tons of naked guys in here! And then there’s Charlie’s pics too…Ha!
Birdman, my dreams of being a part-time model have been foiled! Turns out I have to go to a casting which will be inconveniently held a few days after my surgery. Oh well! Like I said before, my face is as symmetrical as a Picasso painting, so its probably for the best.
Anyways, thanks for the support peeps! I’m going to go ahead and log my pre-surgery workouts, starting with last nights upper. The end is nigh!!!
Monday: Back and Shoulders
Triset
N grip pullups - 4,4,4,4,4
side lat raises - 4x12x20
N grip pullups - 4,4,4,3,3
Front raise - 2x12x15, 2x(6/20, 6/15) < did the last two sets drop-setish
chest support rows - 2x8x45, 2x8x40
seatd OHP 8x 25, 30, 6x35, 8x30 < 35s were tuff stuff!
cable row with DD handles - 12x80, 10x80, 12x75, 12x70
BB high pull - 12x35, 12x40, 8x45, 12x40
All in all a strong day! I could’ve done more too, but thought better of it. I’m super happy about the pullups, I dont think I’ve done that many in a while. I credit the this N grip pullup strength to some work I’ve been doing for my rhomboids! YAY!
Mentally, I’m a bit muddled. Nailing the surgery logisitcs has been tedious. Plus, I’m dealing with a lot of changes with work (transitioning to my new job as of next week), which will leave me sans health insurance for a bit. Yikes! Good news is my soccer league provides secondary insurance, so i’ll be ok. Just more paperwork. And of course the surgery is a bit nerve-wracking. I know a lot of you guys have had surgery, some of you very serious surgery! So I know I’m just being dramatic and sensitive. Maybe if i think of “general anesthesia” as a kind of party drug, i might feel better…but what if I have an out of body experience while I’m under!!! Awkward!
I’m off to do glutes and hams now! Talk to you soon my lovelies! Thanks for hanging in here with me ![]()
yay, your back!!!
sounds like things will be stressful before it gets better…you’ll come through it all better than before(or maybe more crazy!) ![]()
One day at a time, thats all you can do.
I see this log is off to a fantastic start.
Thats what Im talkin about Masch!
Hang in there, hope all gets settled.

POIDH ![]()
Glad you’ve adopted this thread as your new long. Dont sweat the surgery masch. You’ll be in and out in now time and back on the road to recovery.
You could STILL try your hand at modeling… Maybe you could become a knee brace model or something? That would work for the time being
As far as the surgery is concerned when I went under it was just like falling asleep only faster. That’s it. You wont even notice yourself going under, it’s that fast. Not sure if this helps or makes it worse. lol
The part that sucked was after, I was throwing up all day and into the night.<–It was either a reaction to the anesthesia or the pain meds after.
That was just my reaction though.
Thanks MiM and Matty! The comeback kid, that’s me ![]()
PcH, Thanks!
Greg, a leg brace model is a brilliant idea. lol!
Charlie - Thanks for the input, mama! Yeah the general anesthesia is kinda what’s irking about the surgery. I spoke with my friend and she said its “like winking, you don’t even know it happened” - i’ll be fine. lol! I also made the executive decision that I’m going to take Percoset for my pain. The doctor better comply!
Tuesday: Glutes and hams!
Trap Bar DL - 5x 115, 135, 155, 175, 175 < I’ve never trained Trap DLs, they’re pretty fun. Not sure on form, but it seems conv DLish.
SLDLs/RDls - 5x 95, 115, 135, 135, 125 < These were SLDL attempts that turned into RDLs. I find that when I do RDLs I feel more in the hams, so I should really just stick with RDLs
DB single leg RDLs - 2x12x15, 2x12x20
KB swings - 2x15x30, 2x15x35
Seated abductor - 2x15x70, 2x15x80 < seriously, i’m only doing these because I can. lol! so sad.
glute circuit w/ 5lb weight
reverse hyper w/ 5lb ankle weights (10lbs) 4x15
Look ma, no ACL!
My grip started slipping on the last rep, meh. I’ve also just decided that from here on I’m going to stop pulling mixed-grip and just start using my straps if I need them. I think that for Oly, the straps are better than getting used to the mixed grip.
Est c’est tout!
Tomorrow (today!) will be pilates, maybe some recumbent bike.
I’m feeling a bit better. I like what I read in Brute’s log about enjoying the little things in life - that’s helped ![]()
Goodnight y’alls!
Oh, and i have a giant knot in both my IT bands! So painful to foam roll them. Like, crying like a little bitch painful. I suspect it has to do with the injury and walking even more like a duck than normal.
Also, does anyone know how long I should take off of lifting lower before the surgery? I’m thinking to do one last glutes and hams day on Monday the 4th - that should give me enough time to ensure minimal swelling for the procedire, no?
Ok, really, g’night!

Ouch on the IT Bands.
I would guess 2 days myself on the downtime.
Have a good night Masch
of course you can make this your log if you want to. i just didn’t want to cheat you out of your own title etc if you wanted that.
with my surgeries… i wasn’t really mentally competent enough to understand that they were coming, so i didn’t anticipate them overly much. except for getting some of the hardware removed later which was done under local (and i got to watch them take a couple screws out - so cool!!!)
i didn’t find them any worse than getting a blood test. which i don’t like much, admittedly, but i don’t fret about them overly much.
MAKE SURE THEY MAGIC MARKER THE CORRECT LEG!!!
i had a go with some straps the other day and LOVED them. took all the pressure off my hands which were feeling pretty tender. only takes me about 5 minutes to get them set-up, i’m so uncoordinated though, ha!
Ah so are going to use this as your new log. I guess peer pressure does work ![]()
Don’t know, the trap bar looked good to me. My one PT had me work on those before he would let me near regular deadlifts, I found I could lift more with the trap (but I think that is pretty common).
It’s good to have you logging your training. Awesome news on your sugery date. That’s coming right up. Percocet sounds like a good plan to me.
Your training is spectacular, you BB’er you =)
Imagine my racing heartbeat when I saw a Maschy vid! Very nice ham/glutes workout.
I <3 the pumas as well.
It most definetely is. First thing I was in the room with the surgeon, when I opened my eyes I was back in my bed and I asked the nurse “When is this gonna get done?”
I was shocked when she told me they already operated. Ha! It’s quite remarkable.
You’ll be fine Masch.
The anesthesia does make you nauseous though =/
You’re awesome! I must say I don’t like the idea of a general anaesthetic but apparently the pre-med is so good you don’t care.
