Is that Don Long with him? If so, didn’t he drop from competing in the 90’s due to health issues?

Yes. He also made a “come back” and insisted they allow him to compete. The wrap on his arm is to cover the port used for his dialysis. Last I heard he trains in Florida and is still personal training. He is still in that kind of shape which is impressive no matter what anyone says.[/quote]

Impressive for sure.

And damn, is Richards huge or what?

Yes i remember it was a kidney condition. He was doing so well too, i remember seeing commercials with him. Glad to see he’s ok and he is in phenomenal shape. HE should be the poster boy for dialysis. He must be one of the healthiest sick people out there, the irony.

He could give hope to alot of people on dialysis that you can still live a good life no matter what. Damn, to think of the excuses average people come up with to not exercise and then you look at Don Long.

FUCK GENETICS

I showed some pics of bodybuilders to my friends and they thought that too. The point on bodybuilding is not just carrying a shitload of mass, is how that muscle actually looks. Otherwise Kovacs and Vic Richards would have been Mr. Olympias.

Richards didn’t look so bad, did he? Just held a lot of water at shows?

He avoided competition because he didn’t like getting that dry (the health issues involved seemed to be a primary reason, and I agree with that). That may be why he is still hovering around 300lbs in great shape in his 40’s with apparently no health problems that anyone has heard of.

Didn’t know he was still that heavy. I thought he looked pretty great back in the day… Don’t know what people have against his physique.

Even though he never got super shredded that I have seen, I think he carried all that mass very well with pretty good lines as well. I’m not sure it’s possible to put anymore mass on a frame.

I think that guy will still be 270lbs when he is 60…age doesn’t seem to be affecting him at all. Education and dedication can work wonders when it comes to bodybuilding and health in general.
