Markus Ruhl Polish Nationals

One question.

Natural?

He has a good v-taper…but he does look blocky…Maybe he would look better if his ab muscles atrophied some. branch Warren made huge improvements to his shape by letting up on abs…His midsection looks much tighter now…

I wonder if he could have a crazy v-taper if he laid off ab training like Branch Warren did?

^^ Watchu talkin bout? This is the best I’ve seen the Ruhlster in a while.

Seriously

We can’t see his abs from the side but his waist is tiny (for him) in that pic.

How can you say that he doesn’t have a crazy V-taper? It’s a shot from the front… He’s always had a wide back[/quote]

LOL! No me dejo de cagar de la risa. In the second one he almost laughs at his statement.

As for Markus, I think that is the fuckin’ freakiest package I’ve ever seen, I think he shrank a bit on his lats though.

I doubt it.

Of course you are entitled to your opinion but I feel that there are plenty of guys past and present that bring a better complete package to the stage. A grouping of A+ bodyparts will put someone up there with the best but doesn’t mean THE BEST. Some guys just flow better, regardless of size.

I showed some pics of bodybuilders to my friends and they thought that too. The point on bodybuilding is not just carrying a shitload of mass, is how that muscle actually looks. Otherwise Kovacs and Vic Richards would have been Mr. Olympias.

Richards didn’t look so bad, did he? Just held a lot of water at shows?

He avoided competition because he didn’t like getting that dry (the health issues involved seemed to be a primary reason, and I agree with that). That may be why he is still hovering around 300lbs in great shape in his 40’s with apparently no health problems that anyone has heard of.

Markus Ruhl is a collection of great bodyparts, but his overall package doesn’t flow at all. He doesn’t have the classic lines at all, but he sure carries a whole lot of muscles everywhere! His conditionning has always been good from the front, but soft from the back. As for his triceps, he tore both of them so no wonder they don’t match the rest of his physique! He has always trained his triceps 2 times a week with a lot of volume since they were a weak bodypart early on - he continued doing so after his first tear so he was kind of opening the door to repeated injuries… Maybe lower volume would have been good for him, but we’ll never know!!
On a side note, Markus does only that show because 1) NYC fans just love him, that’s where he really made his mark early on.

  1. He knows he doesn’t stand a chance in the bigger shows like the ASC and in fact he doesn’t really care for it I’m pretty sure, he just wants to get up on stage one last time and hear “RUUUUUUUUUHHLLLLLLLL” a couple more times as he strikes those most muscular he’s famous for.

Cheers Markus, he’s always been one of my favorite bodybuilder - he’s gonna bring all he can!

Didn’t know he was still that heavy. I thought he looked pretty great back in the day… Don’t know what people have against his physique.

Most people don’t have a clue what they are talking about because they just heard of these guys this year.

This is a current pic of vic taken about 3 years back I think.

Is that Don Long with him? If so, didn’t he drop from competing in the 90’s due to health issues?

Yes. He also made a “come back” and insisted they allow him to compete. The wrap on his arm is to cover the port used for his dialysis. Last I heard he trains in Florida and is still personal training. He is still in that kind of shape which is impressive no matter what anyone says.

Look at the lower left corner of the pic ;D
