Woke at 256.2 lbs, looking less bloated. Didn’t eat so much yesterday but that’s the bug hitting my appetite more than anything. Still not 100 per cent but perfectly functional. The weekend should help a lot.
Woke at 256.8 lbs, looking similar to yesterday. So much for being functional yesterday, because I spent most of the day dozing or asleep: got up around 1030 and went back to bed at 1900. Must have needed it because I do feel noticeably better today.
Woke at 258.6 lbs, looking no more bloated than yesterday. Win. Glad I pushed the food a bit. Feeling pretty much normal.
#winning. Glad you are feeling better.
Ok, so eating two foot long breakfast subs and a large tub of oats soaked in chocolate milk within four hours of training may not have been smart. The bloat was fucked.
Todays training
3x10 bracing hip thrusts
10x10 seconds bracing 90/90
Did some band shoulder distraction in between these
Squat
Worked up to
4x1x418 lbs - bare knees, walked out. Working up middle back felt kind of jacked up but it got better quickly.
5x418 lbs - bare knees out of the mono.
12x418 lbs - wraps at six revolutions out of the mono. This was an AFSAP set and got it in one but fuck me dead it was work. Took me a fair while to recover

Wide stance squat (each foot two inches out)
2x10x325 lbs
Band good mornings
55 reps - 25, 30
Pullups
2x5 - one set wide overhand, one set wide neutral
1x6 - max reps set, wide neutral
All up an hour and 55 minutes and I really couldn’t have gone much quicker.
Beastmode Mark, Awesome
Hell of a set man!
I see you’ve reached elite status and have a knee unwrapping crew on standby haha.
Woke at 257.5 lbs, very little bloat. That’s a long sleep for you. Woke up feeling like dogshit: congestion returned, had some sort of intermittent dry cough and a ton of pressure in my face to the extent that my teeth hurt. So I called work off, which I don’t like to do, but this isn’t normal so I’m heading to the doctor. That’s where the long sleep came from. At least my teeth don’t hurt any more.
Almost two weeks now I haven’t been able to string together more than three days not being stupid tired no matter how much I sleep. It’s pissing me off.
This post was good to read for me

Feels like I’ve been sitting in the one and two regions for a bit now. Shit happens. I’m not going anywhere. Stubbornness is an underrated trait.
Bloods came back and all is pretty good. Cholesterol is very, very slightly high but we’re talking by around 0.1 or so, so nothing to worry about too much.
Doc reckons I have a sinus infection, which apparently can fuck you up some; but also reckons I need a sleep study for apnoea so I’m in the process of doing that.
Mate that set of 12 is super impressive. You have improved so much I the last two years. Unreal stuff
As Fucking Sucky As Possible?
Aw mate, thank you. It means a lot. Great to hear today especially while I’m sitting here feeling sorry for myself.
@mattjp sort of, it’s As Few Sets As Possible. But it does suck, so yeah.
Very nice set my friend, good work as always.
Just a casual 190kg for 12 lol
Nice work mate
Maybe it is time to lay off a bit. You have been feeling off for a significant time now.
Get well soon man!
P.S. that was an unreal squat set.
Woke at 260.4 lbs, looking barely more bloated than yesterday. So that’s a win. Feeling better than yesterday. About the same as when I woke up on Monday, in fact, so basically normal.
@Koestrizer I get what you’re saying. I just wish I knew what the fuck it was. If it turns out to be sleep apnea, that’ll at least be a solvable problem. If it’s a sinus infection it must be one hell of a bug, but the doc did say they can knock you around simply because of the volume of infection you can carry without really being aware of it.
I am no medical professional and won’t suggest things other then support your decision to seek further medical check ups, I just ask the questions so you think about it yourself:
In the past you have mentioned depression and you were on meds. Are you still on those and how are you feeling in that regard?
Are you under more stress than usual? Your work sounds exhausting.
Are you sure the training isn’t overstimulating at this point in time?
Good questions.
Yes, still on the same medication and it’s well under control. I have very, very few bad days now.
I wouldn’t necessarily say I’m under more stress. I did quite a few extra hours at work last week but the work itself was easy. I was just working an extra couple of hours a day from Wednesday to Friday. Prior to that I wasnt working any extra hours for a good six weeks.
I doubt the training is over stimulating right now as last week was a deload, and I took it very easy; and the three or so weeks leading up to that I backed off a fair bit anyway because I was feeling beat up. That isn’t to say that Monday’s squats weren’t taxing. I suspect they may have pushed me over the edge yesterday combined with a very bad and short night of sleep.
To be honest @Koestrizer that’s what’s really bugging me. If I could definitively answer yes to even one of your questions I’d have a very good answer as to why I’ve been struggling, and I could either address it or work around it.
I’m really hoping the sleep study comes back saying it’s apnea because that means I can get a CPAP and should expect improvements pretty quickly. It would explain why I’m so tired a lot of the time regardless of how much I sleep, and would explain why my recovery isn’t so great despite eating plenty of reasonably decent food.
Well first of all: I very much enjoy reading this

I feel you, that is a very shitty situation to be in. I hope you get a clear idea of what is going on soon! I see that you have a very good look on what is going in terms of the variables you can control which for me is always he first step.
I hope you get well soon buddy.
