Lifting with your hubby helps too!
LOL My wife is the ULTIMATE distraction for me. But huh, she never gets hit on.
Ditto. Weird how that happens
Jamie1888/jls7279 definitely can concentrate on only lifting when we lift together as our husband/wife team. Haha.
FWIW, some of my favorite runners are self coached 8|
Wilson Kipsang, a former world record holder & the most marathons under 2:05 (I think?) is self coached. unreal.
Jake & Zane Robertson are self coached as well. Pretty cool.
Yup.
Accumulate fatigue → pull back the bow.
Release w/ some rest/deload/taper → vanquish your opposition.

Woke at 217.8 lbs, looking kind of dry I guess? Best sleep in a while.
Wish I could say that, I am knackered
Today’s training
45 degree back raises, GHR sit-ups, low box jumps
DL, stiff bar
3xplate
3x2 plates
2x3 plates, belt on
Switch to mixed grip
4x4x357 lbs, 15 second rests - took two minutes 15 seconds, and it did not suck that much plus bar moved FAST
DL without touching the floor
2x6x357 lbs - this fucking sucked
DB SLDL
2x15x120 lbs - also not enjoyable in the slightest
Air squats
50 reps
DB rows
10x120 lbs
2x10x100 lbs - lower back shot by now
All up an hour and a half. Slowed down a bunch after the no touch deads plus distracted today too.
Went over budget by 1000 cal or so, via a bowl of oats, honey and yoghurt for dessert at dinner. Delicious AF.
Sounds pretty good.
I found you on Facebook so i’ll hit you up with a message tomorrow to try organise a… play date lol
play date hahahaha makes me smile every time I read it.
Nice workout Mark, you are really testing some limits here, with all that submax work and short rest.
Do you have the slightest idea if you’ve become stronger with heavy weights?
Woke at 218.9 lbs, looking tight again. OK. Not sure how that works, but OK.
@painter27 cool, I’ll look out for a message
@mortdk I think I am. The weights are moving fast no matter how shitty I feel, and that’s usually an indication that something is going right.
Today’s training
Leg extensions, GHR sit-ups, some weird side to side jumps off one leg and broad jumps
Front squat
Worked up to 10x264 lbs
Middle back cracked on rep seven, which was a little freaky, but got through to 10, just slowed my descent a bunch
DB goblet squats
2x15x110 lbs - these are getting a ton easier very quickly
45 degree back raises
5x10 at bodyweight - again, triple checked your make sure
Hamstring curls
2x15x60 lbs
15x50 lbs
15x45 lbs
These were FUCKED
DB lunges
20x55 lbs
BB rows
2x10x220 lbs - some hints from mid back that it wasn’t ecstatic but no dramas
DB rows
2x10x120 lbs
Lying leg raises
50 total reps: 25, 25
Done in an hour and 15 minutes
Dinner was delicious: mince beef, pasta and a slice of chocolate cake. Another 1000ish cal over budget but I was hungry AF.
Woke at 219.6 lbs, looking about the same as yesterday. WTF?
Woke at 218.9 lbs, looking pretty tight. I’m going to give it another couple of weeks and if the scale doesn’t move I’ll up calories again.
Also, just a note
My hamstrings are toast. Straightening my legs is no fun.
Just muscle soreness or something more sinister??
