MarkKO's Training Log

Woke at ? again, because I forgot to get batteries for the scale. It randomly worked last night before bed and told me I was 217.1 lbs. I’m looking a bit soft and maybe bloated but not massively.

Omg same that’s amazing . In Canada its easily 1400 and that doesn’t even include utilities .

But sadly our $1400 only converts to around $1000USD!

Our prices are also heavily influenced on location. Big cities or close to college/university and the prices skyrocket. The supply/demand curve is steep!

Today’s training

45 back raises, GHR sit-ups, some box jumps

DL, stiff bar
3xplate
3x2 plates
4x4x308 lbs - first two sets double overhand, then mixed grip
2x7x308 lbs - oh fuck

10 second rests (give or take) between work sets. All six took four minutes and 15 seconds.

Pull to the knee
2x10x264 lbs - both double overhand, seems like grip has gotten a fuckton stronger (not that 264 lbs being notable for double overhand says much complimentary, but for 10s makes it a little better)

SGDL
2x6x264 lbs - mix of double overhand and hook grip (three each), so yeah, grip has gotten stronger. Last time I did SGDL I couldn’t even go double overhand with two plates

Pull-ups
8 wide neutral-ish
6 medium neutral
5 close neutral

Done in an hour

Per month, right?
Even then that’s cheap by Finnish standards

I pay 500 euros per months for a third of that

That’s $600 a week right ?

@danteism @simo74 Where I’m from you can rent a house for $700-$1,000 a month without utilities of course. That would be a nice house too with garage.

Physique update (or lack thereof, really). Fatter, but also thicker.

Also, by the run home with Simba to beat the rain, conditioning isn’t bad either.

Per month. We have range of places but if you wanted a gated entry at a new place then you can still get 800-1000 sq feet with two bedrooms and two baths for around $1000/month. My wife and I stayed at a slightly less fancy place for a bit and we had 800+ sq feet with two bedrooms and two bathrooms for like $640/month.

My wife and I watch a lot of HG TV, especially the renovation shows. One show, Good Bones, finds old rundown houses and buys them for like $30k. They then put about $150k into them to bring them back to life and sell them for $300-500k. The crazy thing is that they’ll sell a 900 sq house for almost $400k!!! The show is in Indianapolis, Indiana and they focus on coveted areas, but that’s still nuts to me.

In my town you can have a house in a coveted older area as well but you get way more for your money. $500k would get you like 4000-5000 sq feet or 3000 sq feet on a lot that’s triple the size of the rest. Like I said, we paid $167k for our house and it’s 2800 sq feet plus the unfinished basement. We’re not in the coveted neighborhood but really close. Our house would probably go for $225-250k if it were one mile to the south of where it is.

When people start talking about salaries for certain jobs all across the country I just nod and smile because I’m probably getting the most for my money right here.

My house is worth about $440K - it’s three bedroom, one bath, about 1200 sf.

Again, Long Island, I know.

I mean this in the nicest way possible… F you all! I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and particularly one of the worst in terms of the housing market.

According to Zillow.com the median home price in my city is $941K . Good luck finding a 2 bedroom TINY apartment for under $2100 per month. 3 bedrooms? minimum $2650 per month. It’s ri-god-damn-diculous!

According to HG TV you can afford that housing if you train hamsters part-time and your spouse sharpens colored pencils at the homeless shelter as a volunteer.

In Tennessee, I worked as a waiter, I had one roommate and lived in a 3 bedroom lake house. With Hot Tub. Also, I had a boat.

Additionally, SEC Football.

I really need to get those damn batteries. Woke looking the same as the last two days, maybe a little less bloated.

Yes, but…my friend inherited his house in Palo Alto when it was appraised for $370K. He put $200K into it, lived there for ten years, then sold it for $1.5M.

It always cracked me up seeing these 3/2’s worth $1.5M and the owners driving Ford Pintos because they had lived in the house for twenty some years.

SF is truly bat shit crazy, as is all of the Peninsula, even the East Bay. I bought a condo in Union City in 1989 for $105K, sold it ten months later for $118K, and it’s worth over $500K now. Same with a house I bought in Portland for $81K in 1990, it’s worth over $500K now as well.

And, of course, you never know what’s going to happen. I paid $430K for my current home over twelve years ago, so no appreciation at all.

In DK a tiny 2 bedroom apartment (55 m2) (590 ft2) in Copenhagen costs about 415000 us dollar. That is the medium price. Rent price about 2000 us dollar give or take.
So we’re not that far behind.
