Wish I could help, Derek. I didn’t grow up around people teaching me hatred and superiority complexes toward other races.

I didnt either, but I was of course aware of it, just curious of your thoughts. Thanks DN

I did and yes you can change but it takes a conscious effort.

It is odd in the North how segregated we are generally. I grew up in the suburbs of Detroit and yet there were only three African Americans in my highschool. Sure it is getting better but it still saddens me it is not more diverse in the rural area I live.

Same with Testy on this one. I grew up quite racist. I was one of two white boys in my grade all throughout both middle and high school. A day didnt go by without some type of confrontation. It ranged from basic racial remarks to having barrel shoved in the side of my head. That hatred went away after high school. When a person realizes that ignorance comes in all races, financial backgrounds, and regions, they learn to lose that cold feeling and disdain. I also realized that south Texas isnt for me. Derek knows what Im talking about.
Sadly I do, I was lucky in that I had parents that did not raise me in a racist environment.
I didn’t mean to imply my family was overtly Racist for the most part, just that there was no conscious effort not to think that way. My dad had some friends that were black but he would say stupid shit like “there are black men and there are ni**ers” which just confused the matter.

Keep in mind that this was not long after the Detroit riots, white flight from Detroit and the extreme segregation of the suburbs resulting in very little contact with people that were different than me growing up. It’s not that I ever felt hatred towards blacks, just that my surroundings prevented me from having any contact. It is easy to look askew at people you have no experience with.

As was mine, and neither did I. All I can attribute it to is being a product of their environment and fear of the unknown. I think I still have the original deed to her house that states it could not be sold to “coloreds”.

Whats funny is my parents werent racist. In fact, my Dad was born and in the exact same town and everyone loved him(small town of 1600 people). But back when he was in school, it was more diverse. The tide changed once I was of age.

See, I dont think that that is actually racist.

Ah I see the magic asterisk fairy has transmogrified what you wrote…

Moving on…

I also dont think that, there are women and there are cunts is misogynist and that, there are men and there are pigs is mysandric because there are enough assholes to go around so the every demographic gets its fair share.

Equality.

Finally.
