He’s got boxing, Karate and jits.
I dont know about being too tight, I saw a video that showed some good flexibility if I remember correctly…
HES GOT BOXING PEOPLE. HE HAS SKILLS IN STANDUP.

The man does strongman and plays rugby. His conditioning should not be questioned.
What should be asked is, how good is his chin? He certainly has a strong neck…
Fuck me, I would hate to have him running at me with the football. Like a fucking train!
If ever there was a real-life equivalent to the Incredible Hulk…

I also think he’s too stiff, too big and not conditioned enough. He probably doesn’t have any grappling training.

He is pretty flexible, a good boxer, trained in kyokushin kai karate and one of the strongest men in the world. I’m damn sure he’d do pretty well and would love to see him fight.
A guy that can rip your arm out and has just a basic understanding of grappling is still a very hard opponent.
I’m fairly certain that however he decided to pull on one of your limbs would hurt enough to constitute as grappling.

I assume you’re referring to me. What I said is " People underestimate the fact that a lot of the huge guys that come into MMA in later age like Carwin, Brock, Coleman etc… have a world class wrestling pedigree. "
Mariusz never competed as a professional boxer at a world class level. He has a BACKGROUND in martial arts. Brock has a WORLD CLASS background in martial arts where he was the NCAA champion for the 280 pound weight class and could have probably competed in the Olympics should he have wished to do so. I really don’t want to sound like a fanboy, but a fight between the two would end in the first round: Brock shoots in and minces him. It takes a lot more than world class strength to stop a shot, a lot more to scramble to your feet, etc etc.
He will do well against B list fighters though.

I think he would dominate alot of people, I have no idea what his chin is like but to assume he wouldnt do good because he is “stiff or not conditioned” is foolish.
You gotta remember he was a golden gloves boxxer, he has a fourth kyu green belt in Kyokushin kaikan and he also took second in polands version of dancing with the stars so he is obviously athletic and I guarantee he is conditioned, Havent you ever seen him run around with kegs and giant bags of sand through water.
He would ruin a lot of fighters faces.
Since he took second in a popularity contest he’s an athletic fighter? That makes a lot of sense. His events last 1-2 minutes with extended rest breaks. MMA rounds last five minutes, with 1 minute rest breaks.
No point in arguing over how he will do lets wait and see. Plus the guys 300+ no way he would ever fight Brock.
Mariusz is an amazing athlete in general. The conditioning required in strongman is much greater than that required in mma, I guarantee that. His breaks probably only last two minutes depending on his event, and he goes balls-out effort for the whole event.
Unfortunately, I don’t believe a green belt in useless karate is going to get him far, nor is a gold glove trophy from however long ago. I think working with Gonzaga would help him the best, but he would need to be a prodigy to be very good. He will be a huge crowd-puller though, and he is truly tailor-made for Japan

I disagree about Strongman comp reguiring better conditoning than MMA, MMA athletes are the most conditioned SOB’s in the world and I will argue that to the death.I have no doubt that Pudz has great conditioning but it isnt up to par with MMA.I can do ATG squats into the 30’s with my bodyweight and it takes up to 3 mins< but my all around conditioning sucks.
Second to assume he wouldnt do well because he only has a green belt in karate and golden gloves boxxing background when he was younger is dumb, Brock lesnar is a fucking oaf. He might have great wrestling background and great athletics but his ground sucks, he is a one trick pony and all it would take to over power him is someone stronger.Pudz could probably do decline situps with lesnar on his chest.

Yeah, you are so right dude. It’s all about size and strength. That’s why Bob Sapp and Hong Man Choi are among the best fighters in the world and weaklings like Fedor, A. Silva, Machida, and Penn always get overpowered. Oh wait…

Seriously? Are you joking? Do you even understand wrestling and the fact that in that sport, technique is more important than strength?
Brock Lesnar’s best aspect is his ground. To say it sucks means you don’t understand his gameplan. He may be a one-trick pony, but when he’s on the ground, it’s all technique. It’s really cool that you think Pudzianowski could do decline situps with Lesnar on his chest, but doing a sit-up is a lot different than getting a 285 lb man off your hips and chest. The most basic grappler knows to distribute their weight so that the person underneath them will find it near impossible to get up.
Why would you even bring Brock Lesnar into the discussion? He’s worlds beyond Pudzianowski and always will be. He actually has elite level skills in a sport that relates to MMA.
Out of all martial arts athleticism is most beneficial in wrestling. Brocks double is like a tackle and he can get away with it because he is so athletic.
You guys forget that MMA organizations do drug tests. He would have to come off the juice. Couple that with him training for MMA and not for strongman and his strength advantage would be nullified. We would see a much smaller and weaker Pudz and although he would be entertaining to watch, he really would be an average heavyweight in my opinion.
Are you kidding, yeah because once Brock started mma he lost his strength. And there are ways to fool drug tests.

GSP’s athleticism comes into play just as much, if not more so, than Brock’s, but I don’t hear a bunch of people saying that a strongman is going to walk in and overpower his way to victory over gsp. It’s ludicrous.

brock does change levels extremely fast for a guy his size

I wouldn’t say “nullified”, he’d probably still be the strongest guy in MMA but it is doubtful he’d remain over 300 pounds if he is in optimal fighting shape, and the drug test will mean at least that his cycles will have to become more rudimentary.
I have no doubt Mariusz will do well in the shallow waters of MMA. However all this talk of him fighting A class MMA fighters is kind of funny, equally funny as the exaggeration of his MMA background. I think I know who the ULTIMATE mma fighter would be. A gold medalist olympic lifter that does bag work after his workout. I mean imagine all that world class strength and speed, he’ll probably break your arm if he touches you.
