I’m training for a marathon and was wondering on recommendations on race day supplementation . I’d really like to add the Finibars and just wondering what you would recommend.
Last time I used Surge Workout Fuel 15 mins before and sipped throughout 1 scoop per hour and a half into the race (just needed to use 3 scoops total overall [Plus Spike caps twice but then resorted to some free gatorade here and there and free power bar towards end]). But it worked out well for me with a 4:27 time.
Now with the inclusion of Finibars (simply delicious!), should I eat one 45 mins before the race, 15 mins before one serving of SWF, another serving of SWF midrace and one more Finibar towards the end?
Do you think this would be ideal? I’d like to not drink gatorade endurance or eat power bars this time and go all out with Biotest products which I trust alot more.
My racing weight is 175-170 lbs with 11-12% BF and a fully visible 6 pack (but not for long!) (alot of my BF is in my thighs) (Weight lifting is my passion but I recently got into running another marathon for a good cause). The 6 pack might slightly fade by race day but I can get it back solid within a month tops. Post marathon I would treat myself with 4 scoops of Surge recovery (100g carbs).

I don’t have much experience with marathon runners, but:

a good friend of mine does triathlons and she loves Surge Workout Fuel and FINiBARs.

FINiBARs were originally designed for Cathy Compton (cyclist) and are designed to be digestion-friendly and actually help pull water into the muscles.
I suggest 1 FINiBAR per hour of running.
