Buckle down, head down, focus, it’s only two weeks Sleepy, you can do it.
Then it’s time to sit back, lit the barbecue and make some deer and beer.
Thanks Mort! It looks like it will be two weeks again lol. This is the project that never ends, but it is starting to get close.

Awesome work in here dude. I also just got what I consider a promotion (moving off 12 hour shifts on a concrete floor working with chemicals, which is taxing even though I love working with lasers/microscopes/lathes/my hands in general, to a programming job for the same company), and negotiated 4 10’s a week. I don’t know about you, but I’ve worked everything under the sun - night shift 12’s, day 12’s, rotating, 5 on 5 off, and of course 5 8’s, but working 4 days a week for 10’s is beautiful. I’ll be tuesday thru friday 8-630, with none of my work following me home and never leaving late. C’mon. Can’t beat that.
Congrats man! That’s great news, you deserve it. I only had to put in one year of nights (some 60+ hour weeks), until I got my first 40hours per week (5 8’s) job. This new job is the same, just with some shift work required, some on call required, and some nights and opportunity for overtime during the winter. It is more money, and gets me out of the cubicle atmosphere which just doesn’t suit me.
The hours of work is the one negative aspect about my change in positions.

And happy Easter
Thanks, Simo, happy Easter to you as well!
I hope all my TNation pals are doing well and staying healthy.
My May 2nd powerlifting competition was cancelled (as expected), and I’m kind of relieved as my training has not reflected any sort of peaking strategy. Just sort of getting some work in when I can.
My new job is going great. I still have a ton of things to wrap my head around to feel competent in the position, but my colleagues are great and have been very helpful with my transition into the job. It is still early, but I feel that this position will fit my personality/interests much more closely than my previous job.
My biggest risk of leaving my previous position was that I worked with great people. However, my manager, director and fellow supervisors are all great people to work with which was a big relief.
We are just finishing up the final touches on our house now in order to get the occupancy permit. Waiting on front deck materials to be delivered, so that I can have it built late this week/early next. My drywall in the basement and garage was just mud/taped, and a little bit of work left for the electrician. I just picked up some fibre insulation (Rockwool) to put in the floor joist cavities in the basement to cover the spray foam (building code for fire protection of the spray foam), so that is what I will be doing this weekend.
Our little man is still teething, but he is just awesome. He is starting to pull himself up on things now, and starting to develop a little attitude. My wife is doing a phenomenal job raising him and keeping him busy through the day, it is a long day entertaining a 9month old!
One of these days I need to sit down and catch up on some logs, I’m feeling so out of the loop on here! Feel free to pop in with a quick hello/update in the meantime, as some of your logs are 300+ unread posts which are a little intimidating when I manage to find a spare 20mins of downtime.

Dips randomly felt easy today, I felt light on the bars.
A few random curls to finish the workout while chatting with a buddy who owns the house that my gym equipment is in.
Sounds like things are going well man, congrats!
All good down here mate. Glad to hear the house is nearing completion. The next year for you is going to be massive.
Great to read all the good news on your end! Genuinely happy for you that everything is moving in the right direction.
All good in my spot Sleepy, we just bought my moms house, she’ll be living there for as long as she can.
Then it’s my turn to restore a house, lots of stuff to do there.
Good to see you’re doing good and little sleepy is doing great too.
Damn, it seems like this has taken forever and a day (though I’m sure it seems a lot longer to you!) so that’s good to hear.
So long! Just taking it one day at a time and trying to get a little closer to moving in each day.

500 x 10 ← That was a pleasant surprise.
The way 495 was feeling, I had 5reps in mind at the beginning of the set. For my AMRAP set I threw the cookies (2.5’s) on to make it a clean 500lbs as suggested by my buddy who was there.
Did a few random exercises after, nothing worth noting, mostly curls.
Show off! Some of us are just hoping to pick that up once.
