Haha, actually after looking for a picture I noticed most of the toys are pre-assembled now which I found odd. In the little capsule when I was younger the toys used to come in like 5+ pieces and have little instructions with it for you to put it together. It looks like they have mostly done away with the smaller pieces, likely for similar reasons.
The new thing people are doing now is having a “Poutine Bar” as the late night snack for weddings. Pretty cheap compared to other options and there are a few catering options around (locally) that offer it. Basically Serve your own fries/cheese curds/gravy.
I remember (kind of) the last wedding I was at that had this I was just standing in front of the poutine bar eating the cheese curds out of the bowl. Can you say, classy? To be fair, it was down to the ‘late night crowd’ at that point, and another guy was digging into the fries so I wasn’t the only one being ‘that guy’.
We make a lot of fun about Kinder Überraschung being banned in America over here. I don’t know where this started or even if this is true but it is frequently mentioned.
HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY I hope you have a fantastic evening with your wifey. She sounds like a great lady and planning surprises is exciting Please post details as long as it’s not too personal!!
Haha, ya we actually found that out last time we went across the border that we were actually ‘smuggling’ them into the states…who knew?!
Ya, I have no idea where they are from, just knew that they weren’t allowed in the US. @Koestrizer is our Kinder egg guru!
Thank you muchly!
Well, it is a semi-surprise. I’m very observant and she isn’t good at hiding things from me lol.
Definitely will!
You’ll have to ask my jerk of a coach that question (@BOTSLAYER).
I’ll try and summarize in point form since the paragraph I just tried to write confused myself:
Start extremely light for my top set (~55%1RM)
If I get 8 reps on my top set, I perform additional sets at the same weight until I fail to get 8 reps
If I fail to get 8 reps on my first top set I drop down and do 2-3 sets at FSL
He has programmed me to do squat and bench twice a week, therefore getting through a complete 5/3/1 cycle in 1.5 weeks rather than 3 weeks
Deadlift is still only once per week, so 1 cycle = 3 weeks for DL
Each squat session in a cycle increases by 30lbs, and bench by 20lbs.
The cycles continue in a 2 steps forward, 1 step back fashion (+30, +30, -30, +30, +30. -30)
So the reps will be high for the first few weeks, but will quickly become heavy and difficult to even hit my 8 rep cap.
On Monday I was doing my tops sets at 285lbs but by April 5th I’ll be taking 375lbs for a spin! This ends up climbing all the way up to max reps at 495lbs for the squat before I start my 3 week peak.
@danteism - Thanks brother! I hope things are well with you.
@simo74 - Haha, yeah that’s a telltale sign of a good squat session! And thank you kindly.
Well, morning squat session in the books (ugh). Legs were still sore, hipflexor was tight, but got it done.
SQUAT
45 x 5
135 x 5
225 x 5
275 x 3
315 x 8
315 x 8
315 x 8
315 x 8
315 x 8
315 x 8 ← Hips started shooting on the last couple reps and was basically doing a good morning to finish. 315lbs is a weight that I feel like I can always just keep doing 1 more no matter how ugly. So I decided another set would do more harm than good.
