Any links or references to confirm this? Or is your statement backed up by personal experience?[/quote]

The smell of rotten eggs comes from hydrogen sulfide. This is also the cause of any smells post-digestion. It has nothing to do with “yolks” alone. It is biological matter.

I’m in the same boat as you. You’re probably taking in two, maybe three times as much food as you were before. Your body needs to adapt, and it may not be comfortable for a little while. Your body needs to up enzyme production etc.

One thing I could rant all day about, however, is the ‘parents are giving me attitude about my diet and bodybuilding’ topic. At the end of a killer work-out today, my mother was stood in front of me [watering the plants, of all things] while I was struggling with my last two reps of front squats.

‘Get out my way and do that stupid weightlifting stuff somewhere else’

I could have throttled the lovely old dear… bless her cotton socks. I mean, who plants flowers in front of a garage sized workout shed anyway?

Theres nothing like farting in grappling class. Going for a full Kimora, or a lateral Oblumgatta, the guard, the mount the RIP…

Farts happen, especially during excercise. Usually with some of the older crowd.

By the way, Ive noticed on the High Protein Diet ive not so much farting, but Ive been getting increasingly bad swamp ass…

Anyone know what im talking about?

Do you have some fish burbs to go with your farts?

What do you mean?

you are eating your fish oil, right? In the beggining this can lead to “fish burps”, especially if the fish oil is low quality.

Oh, and if you want to protect your health, better check out Dr. Berardi’s article on Acids and Bases. This stuff is getting a lot more interest from the medical community as well and I’ve even heard some lay people talk about it. Short summary - eat 10-20 servings of fruits and veggies. More if you eat lots of crap.

Also, check out his article on protein intake. It’s even addressed to your parents!

I thought “to yam, is to be man” :stuck_out_tongue:

Has anybody tried any of the digestive enzymes on the market lot Udo’s? Are they worth buying?

We gave a coworker Beano for Christmas last year. So far, so good.

Thanks. I hear Beano is supposed to be particularly effective for gas caused by carbs. Udo’s is supposed to be high in protease, so it’s supposed to be especially good at digesting protein. Anybody with any experience using Udo’s or something similar?

I have read (sorry, don’t remember the source) that taking in more beneficial bacteria (yogurt, kefir, supplements) will help your farts smell less bad. Perhaps someone with more knowledge in this area can comment (where is a GI doc when we need him?)

Also I would say add ground flax seed to your diet. For me it seems to help everything move a little more smoothly, lessening the occurences of bad gas.

Good farting

Jeff

So rearding these digestive enzymes:

will my body adapt to my new high protein diet and produce more of these enzymes on its own,

or do I need to get a supplement to help me out with increased digestion, bloatedness and rancid gas?

You’ll feel much better in a week, and you’ll be completely adapted in two.

FYI, you can make increasing or decreasing protein intake much less painful by doing it slowly, over the period of a month or so. Especially if you’re decreasing - decreasing protein intake without a taper makes T levels drop like an albatross.
