Making Fun of the Bearded Guy

They need to get a sense of humor, Allah has one, Hundreds of muslims die every year riding on top of overcrowded train cars. When these train cars pass through tunnels some people are killed when they hit the tunnel. The spectators and general public refer to this as Allah’s will, You can’t tell me this isn’t fucking hilarious, now that’s a sense of humor.

The virgins, Why would some one blow him self up for 72 virgins that don’t know what they’re doing? I’d rather stumble around in my pathetic mortal life with a couple of cheap whores that know how to do a man right.

You are kidding right?

Even if not, Mohammed is dead, Allah does not exist and suicide bombers do not have the right not to have their feelings hurt.

So who would be hurt by those drawings, except for those who want to be offended, because outrage in the muslim world is the source of their power.

Intolerable to the intolerant.
vroom wrote:

Besides, going around and issuing death threats against the cartoonists merely proves the cartoonists portrayal was accurate, doesn’t it?

Muslims should be pissed off, but the problem is they haven’t figured out who they really should be pissed off at. It is the shitheads committing obscene acts in the name of your religion that you need to police.

It’s not like the cartoonists are actually claiming to represent muslim beliefs, is it?
Exactly!
The cartoonists portray Mohammed like a modern day stereotyp muslim. And how do the muslims react? Exactly like they are portayed!
Ohhh the irony.
They have no idea about what they are really mad about, but they welcome any oppotunity to stand together against any foreign threat in order to remove focus from their owm internal disputes. And besides - who wouldn’t find it amusing to get the chance to get rid of some agression by burning flags and firing AK-47’s while screaming in front of embassys?? Duhh
It’s quite sad, that their only rallying point is conflict.
And a sidenote - most of the demonstrators have never even seen the cartoons, they have only heard about them.
At least they have enough rational sense to realize, that if they need to fight an enemy from the outside, they have to put their own disputes aside.

The reaction from the Middle East, I think, undermines the entire religion. Nobody had the guts to publish such drawings because they know the consequenses - doesn’t this say it all really? Agressiveness and intolerance towards anyone who dares to differ with the “words of Allah”. Hail Salman Rushdie!
Do you have to fear for your life when you express how you feel about something? It’s sick! Islam is truly going through it’s dark ages.
Islam has them locked in a primitive age where their fundamentalist way of practicing their religion prevents them from doing any humanistic or technological progress.

This is at least how they are ALWAYS portrayed in the media. It’s sad that the majority of moderate muslims doesn’t have the same means to capture the attention of the press.

Final note: This entire case should never have left the borders of Denmark. The cartoons are published as a reaction to the social situation in Denmark, so why turn it into an international crisis? Because some Imams from Denmark thought it would be nice to cause a stir due to the horrific circumstances they must endure being muslims in Islam-hostile Denmark.
And then what are these circumstances? “Not everybody live their lives according to the Koran!!! Holy mother of crap! How can we tolerate this sort of blaspehmy?!” sarcasm

We tolerate their values - they don’t tolerate our values, and yet we are the culprits?
End of rant.

PS. I want to hear the voices of moderate muslims!

Best regards
Morten from Denmark

Yesterday (Thursday) Mullah Krekar, the alleged leader of the Islamist group Ansar al-Islam who has been living in Norway as a refugee since 1991, said that the publication of the Muhammad cartoons was a declaration of war. ?The war has begun,? he told Norwegian journalists. Mr Krekar said Muslims in Norway are preparing to fight. ?It does not matter if the governments of Norway and Denmark apologize, the war is on.?

Islamist organizations all over the world are issuing threats towards Europeans. The Islamist terrorist group Hizbollah announced that it is preparing suicide attacks in Denmark and Norway. A senior imam in Kuwait, Nazem al-Masbah, said that those who have published cartoons of Muhammad should be murdered. He also threatened all citizens of the countries where the twelve Danish cartoons [see them all here, halfway down the page] have been published with death.

Doogie,

That is just silly.

The biggest mistake Islam can make is to force the rest of the world to unite against them.

Frankly, I can at least understand being angry about ongoing interference in the Middle East.

However, if actions truly start to happen because of some offensive cartoons, even I, a supposed bleeding-heart liberal, will develop a very very cold shoulder.

The only thing holding back an incredibly bad situation is moderation in the face of unspeakable actions.

Thinking this is weakness and that it cannot shift may be a fatal mistake. We are not weak, we are slow to anger and hard to rally out of our comfortable lifestyles, but do it, motivate us, and it’s over.

We have to remember that it’s always ok to make fun of anybody anywhere, of any race or religion. Unless it’s an African-American, in which case you’d be guilty of a hate-crime.

On a slightly less-PC note, most people already recognize that these stupid cartoons are examples of the crappiest kind of stereotyping, and thus not worth getting worked up over. The fanatics are going to get upset over anything, as they are generally looking for a reason to be outraged.

Sadly, the world image of Islam is generally pretty dire, but why is that? Think back over every news story you’ve heard over the past month involving Muslims. I’m willing to wager the better part of my remaining hair that 90% of the news stories you remember that mention muslims, they were mentioned in the context of 1) a riot of some sort, 2) kidnapping an innocent bystander 3) denouncing Jews or threatening the destruction of Isreal, or 4) blowing shit up.

Right now Islam is pretty much defined by it’s radicals. If the average Muslim wants that to change, they’ll need to do something about it, then dumbass cartoons like these won’t garner this kind of attention, and thus won’t be found worthy of printing by idiots looking to start a fight.

Whether or not something is deplorable, the reaction to the act is also significant. Worldwide threats of violence, warfare and terrorism are not appropriate.

Personally, I find that religions are not something that is inherently obvious about a person – unless they choose to display their religion.

However, classifying someone by the color of their skin, or the slant of their eyes, is different, because it is something we can immediately see and judge a person by and they don’t have the option of concealing it.

Could you enlighten us as to the scientific advances, great novels, and medical breakthroughs that have come out of the Islamic countries in the past few decades?

Islamic groups in London are protesting in front of embassies, calling for beheadings, death and terrorist attacks.

Groups on the West Bank have warned media people to leave or be targets of abduction.

This has the potential to turn into a a series of actions by extremists in various countries.

Islam may be about to undo itself…

Well I think there actions speak for themselves. Morons, We have some dumb rapper dresses himself up like Jesus. Being a Christian, I am offended. So offended that I will not buy Rolling Stone. That’s my protest. I hope they carry out thier threats. So all the hold out will see these people for who they are. IT makes me not give a shit who gets hurt in the Middle East. Hell they elected Hamas for God’s sake. Do we need any more proof that they are either terrorists or want to be? Fuck 'em.

Muslim outrage huh. OK … let’s do a little historical review. Just some lowlights:

* Muslims fly commercial airliners into buildings in New York City. No Muslim outrage.
* Muslim officials block the exit where school girls are trying to escape a burning building because their faces were exposed. No Muslim outrage.
* Muslims cut off the heads of three teenaged girls on their way to school in Indonesia. A Christian school. No Muslim outrage.
* Muslims murder teachers trying to teach Muslim children in Iraq. No Muslim outrage.
* Muslims murder over 80 tourists with car bombs outside cafes and hotels in Egypt. No Muslim outrage.
* A Muslim attacks a missionary children's school in India. Kills six. No Muslim outrage.
* Muslims slaughter hundreds of children and teachers in Beslan, Russia. Muslims shoot children in the back. No Muslim outrage.
* Let's go way back. Muslims kidnap and kill athletes at the Munich Summer Olympics. No Muslim outrage.
* Muslims fire rocket-propelled grenades into schools full of children in Israel. No Muslim outrage.
* Muslims murder more than 50 commuters in attacks on London subways and busses. Over 700 are injured. No Muslim outrage.
* Muslims massacre dozens of innocents at a Passover Seder. No Muslim outrage.
* Muslims murder innocent vacationers in Bali. No Muslim outrage.
* Muslim newspapers publish anti-Semitic cartoons. No Muslim outrage
* Muslims are involved, on one side or the other, in almost every one of the 125+ shooting wars around the world. No Muslim outrage.
* Muslims beat the charred bodies of Western civilians with their shoes, then hang them from a bridge. No Muslim outrage.
* Newspapers in Denmark and Norway publish cartoons depicting Mohammed. Muslims are outraged.

Dead children. Dead tourists. Dead teachers. Dead doctors and nurses. Death, destruction and mayhem around the world at the hands of Muslims … no Muslim outrage … but publish a cartoon depicting Mohammed with a bomb in his turban and all hell breaks loose.

Come on, is this really about cartoons? They’re rampaging and burning flags. They’re looking for Europeans to kidnap. They’re threatening innkeepers and generally raising holy Muslim hell not because of any outrage over a cartoon. They’re outraged because it is part of the Islamic jihadist culture to be outraged. You don’t really need a reason. You just need an excuse. Wandering around, destroying property, murdering children, firing guns into the air and feigning outrage over the slightest perceived insult is to a jihadist what tailgating is to a Steeler’s fan.

I know and understand that these bloodthirsty murderers do not represent the majority of the world’s Muslims. When, though, do they become outraged? When do they take to the streets to express their outrage at the radicals who are making their religion the object of worldwide hatred and ridicule? Islamic writer Salman Rushdie wrote of these silent Muslims in a New York Times article three years ago. “As their ancient, deeply civilized culture of love, art and philosophical reflection is hijacked by paranoiacs, racists, liars, male supremacists, tyrants, fanatics and violence junkies, why are they not screaming?”

Indeed. Why not?

You want moslem outrage.

You’ll never get it.

Moslems are raised with the idea of thier superiority from infanthood. Theyve been promised endless lust and pleasures in the afterlife if they die for allah. You cant take that away from them. Its probably the best meme replicating insurance policy ever devised.

Look, guys, the damn fact of the matter is that Islam is a threat to the world in more ways than you can imagine. Iran officially wants Israel off the map; Hamas won the palestine election; people in europe are having their freedom of speech taken away by masked fuckos with automatic weaponry and a desire for fresh virgin flesh which they havent much chance to experience here on terra firma.

I dont know how long its going to take for the moderate western mind to understand the dangers this religion of war, for war and by war poses to the world and our future, but I hope its not before WE realize what they, the moslems, already know; that a hideously violent end is inevitable.

When shit goes down like that, me and Zeus will be chillen, drinking whiskey, and laughing at people who murder over comics. Cause you know Zeus is definitly the man, and Aphrodite is smokin. My superheroes are definitly the coolest.

Irish was exactly right.

The US Government partially funded Robert Maplethorpes art exhibit which featured Jesus hanging on a cross submerged in urine. There are many other examples such as the Virgin Mary made out of animal dung.

These things upset many people and make them question why tax dollars fund such garbage.

These did not inspire people to riot in the streets, try to kidnap people etc.

The muslim world has a lot of growing up to do. It is not a handful of people going crazy and acting like complete morons. It is tens of thousands or more acting like morons.

Religion is fair game for criticism, even if it is crude or distasteful.

The muslim worlds over reaction is ludicrous and makes me question my beliefs that they are capable of handling freedom.

Freedom means your critics have freedom too.

Imagine if people were coming out in the streets burning Arab flags and demanding the large scale death of Muslims everywhere. The Muslim world would be outraged if a couple of good ole Southern boys, hung the heads of Muslims on the Talahatchie bridge. Yet this is how we see the Muslims acting daily on the news and in the papers.

Right now people are in the street of Denmark and Europe calling for Jhiad over a cartoon. Can you imagine the chaos and destruction if we gave them the Jhiad they seek. Armageddon is not nuclear warfare. It is the Christians and the Muslims final moments.
