That’s because it’s sarcasm.
Jordan Rubin’s company makes many quality products, some of which I use. I am surprised that you, or anyone would refer to one of his plans as “crap.”
Actually, there is a good deal of evidence to indicate that calorie-restricted diets (fasting) can lead to improvements in health and longevity, to say nothing of the possibility of a spiritual benefit.
Nevertheless, I’m currently choosing increased calories and increased mass.

I haven’t got time to go into it now but this mainly to do with the formation of very reactive species known as free radicals. Oxygen radicals can be formed in mitochondria as a byproduct of respiration - they can damage cells due to their reactivity and cause problems such as ageing etc…
