It was much easier than I expected, as I freaking love to eat. I was concerned about my ability to train on fasting days (martial arts), but it didn’t affect me negatively at all. I definitely felt the “light” feeling I’ve read others have felt, both the day of the fast & the day after - which means today. I also noticed I was generally less interested than normal in food the day after the fast.
Lost 2 pounds after the first day, none after the second (fasted on a Tuesday and a Thursday), but my clothes fit me more loosely than the meager 2 pounds would have suggested.
It’s my understanding that you’re supposed to allow for more than one day between fasts, but our family sits down together at the dinner table every night except for Tuesdays and Thursdays, which are our training nights, so that’s the only days that will work for me.
So far I did 2 pulse fasts…I honestly was expecting it to be a little hellish. However, it was a piece of cake. Well maybe I’m a bit biased since I’m experienced with the Warrior Diet and IF in general, so being hungry for long periods of time isn’t new to me. I was also able to do my workouts without feeling famished (again, I’ve done this before about 12 weeks ago for 6 weeks training fasted)etc. as people would expect.
Pulse fasts are awesomely easy. Yesterday I did lower body pressing HPMass template, no secondary upper body lift due to time. But right after my workout I went to the park and did lower body eccentric less training as well. After I was really feeling “worked” however my energy was always constant and well throughout the 2 hours.
i noticed if you feast its cheaper since there is only 6 scoops of MAG-10 throughout the day instead of 10 scoops.
so overall a fast would burn more fat than a feast? i read the pulse feast article and CT says it can also be used for cutting. which would be better to lose fat while bulking?

You get a lot fewer calories in during a fast, so yes, you will burn more fat
On the other hand the feast is supposed to be more of a long term strategy for daily use (fast is only 1-2 times a week), so on average you will probably consume fewer calories throughout the week than you would when pulse fasting once. Probably comparable to pulse fasting twice
Do not think about losing fat while bulking. If you lose some at some point, good for you, but it’s unlikely. Use fasting or feasting to minimize fat gain during a bulk. If you try to lose fat at the same time you will either limit your muscular gains or not gain at all.
A feast is probably comparable in cost (hard for me to say since being up the UK means that Biotest supps are MUCH more expensive for me, food probably too), all depends on how much you’re eating. When bulking you should definitely eat A LOT during the feasting window, so it might even be more expensive.

A feast is 9 scoops MAG-10 on non-workout days, and 6 scoops plus your peri-workout nutrition on workout days, so with the added cost of food, a feast is actually more expensive. In terms of fat loss, if you have a solid diet already, a fast may help, but if you diet with pulse feasting, just make sure you count calories. I did it for the past 6 weeks and just found out a week or two ago I was getting like 1200 calories a day and extremely low fat and carbs. I was constantly sore and run down and after I added fats back in and upped protein a little, feel like a brand new man.
I just did my first pulse fast day last week and it went fine. I was super hungry by the end of the day but made it through with decent energy. I’m cutting at the moment and keep carbs at 100-150g per day, except for Sundays when I do a carb load of 350-400g.
I have a couple questions I’d like feedback on.
Is it best to fast after the carb load day? That is the understanding I have, so for me that would be Monday(and again possibly on Thursday depending on how I’m feeling).
Should I follow the fast with a higher carb day to maximize its effects. Again, this is my understanding for what I have read, and I was thinking of 200-250g on the next day.
Is it ok to take HOT-ROX or BCAAs on the fast day or only the fast items and water.
Any additional feedback from those who’ve done it would be appreciated.

Best? Debatable. I do it Monday’s, because I’m off. I guess you will just deplete faster. Sunday is a low carb day for me.
Follow the fast with a good dietary regime. I carb cycle, and Tuesday is usually Medium Carb day.
My personal thought on BCAA is no, as you are flushing your body with good protein already. Overkill. Again, my opinion. HOT-ROX? Actually, try it and let us know

Thanks for the input. I’ll go with the HOT-ROX tomorrow and skip the BCAAs and give my feedback.
I tried my first pulse fast yesterday and my workout was terrible. I was weak and my mental clarity was down all day. It felt like I’d pulled an all nighter on stimulants I was able to perform but my capacity was diminished in everything I did. I’m going to resume my normal diet and see if the days to come feel better. Has anyone else had this experience?
Decided to jump on this and did my 1st fast today. Actually just about finished. It wasn’t as bad as I thought, though there were definitely times when I felt crappy. Finally finished reading the entire 20 pages of this thread. Hope that I’m able to sleep ok tonight. I’m really looking forward to breakfast tomorrow.
I haven’t done this in a while and been experimenting with other proteins. So far almost all have been crap compared to MAG-10 except for one… but you can’t pulse fast with it.
