Mag-10 and Overtraining

Hopefully I’m posting this under the right area and you guys can offer me some advice. I’ve been lifting for about a year and have come a long way since then. I was thinking about cycling Mag-10 this summer to push the envelope. I know you are supposed to increase cals and training while using it, but I’m a little worried about overtraining. Let me explain. I was thinking of two-a-days. General workout in morning and specific muscle group in afternoon or upper body in the morning and lower in the afternoon. Regardless, I’ll be working contruction all day and I’m afraid it might be too much. I’m currently 6’4", 200lbs, w/ 15% BF. Was always the skinning guy, so this building muscle is a new thing for me. Any advice you guys can offer would be greatly appreciated.

I’d like to see you hold off a little longer before you use it, but if you go through with it, I personally don’t think you’ll have overtraining issues if you eat properly and get your rest (which can be tough for some of us who tend to get pretty wired on it for the first little while on it).

I really doubt you will overtrain on Mag 10. I am one who has to be very careful about overtraining and recovery because I can overtrain easily. I have done two cycles of mag 10. One bulking doing two a days and I didn;t get DOMS or ever feel overtrained. I was always eager to get back in the gym.
The other cycle was when i was dieting. I was eating 1600 kcal a day, sprinting 4 times a week in the morning and doing OVT(very high volume) and I felt fine for the 2 weeks.

Why don’t you just follow the Mag 10 plan for success? Go to the SPECIAL EDITIONS link in the left hand column and read it. It should give you an idea of what your caloric adjustments should be due to your lifestyle as well give a nice example training program for split schedule.
