Long time lurker (2-3 years) here.
I’ve decided to start a MAG-10 cycle after the holidays. I figured I would go on a mass phase until about March, then slow down to get a descent summer shape for May-June.
I’m 5’6" at 148lbs with around 13%BF (abs and side abs clearly visible when lightly flexed). I’ve been training close to 6 years and I’m 27. My ultimate goal would be to first be around 175 @9-11%BF, then at 190. That’s what I’m shooting for…
Ok, now my question.
Following Berardi’s recommendation and BMR calculation, I’ve found I’m currently stable with these intake after 2 weeks.
2500 cals
190g protein
225g carb
90g fat
I’ve started the MAG-10 last week, and now I’m wondering how much should I up my carbs/protein intake… I know if I up my intake too quickly the only thing that will grow will be my gut…and I’d hate to be 170 again at around 18%BF again.
My plan is to up the calories by 500 instead of 250 like Berardi mentionned. Am I correct to assume that since I’m on MAG-10, I should be quicker in increasing the intake as to not be left out in the cold when the juices are flowing ? I plan to augment by adding more oatmeal + a piece of fruit in the morning, then adding to the post workout shake.
Problem is, I am expecting my body to react by growing at around 3600cals. There is also no way I could figure getting the 400+ carbs before I end my cycle if I increase by only 25-50g cars every 2 weeks !!!
I realise I might not me really clear on what I want, I’m just at a loss about the caloric rate of increase I should adopt. I know that if I go too fast, I’ll really just gain fat…
