I just recently was given a PS2 after years of not having one or even playing one, and picked up Madden 2010 a few days ago. I have a buddy coming in to visit for the weekend and I know he wants to play me- its his favorite game. I figure between tonight and tomorrow afternoon when he arrives, I can get a few hrs of practice in. So real simple: what team and what strategy will give me at least a shot of winning?
Arizona and throw to Fitzgerald every play? Run run run with Steelers? Patriots and throw to Moss and Welker?
FWIW he had a baby about 6 mos ago and hasn’t played at much, if at all, so he’s prob a little rusty
Please advise but only if you know what you’re talking about
Vikings, A Peterson, I-form tight and run it every down and throw in PA every now and then. On defense, just play cover-2 sink and be aggressive with a free man. That’s simple enough strategy to take it to a mediocre player.

Dude i would probably try to pick the best team available, probably the colts, and get good at reading the defense he has set up. If it looks like he’s going to blitz,(lot’s of guys on the line of scrimage, audible and throw to the receiver witht the least amount of defense on him.)If it looks like he’s in prevent, run that ball up the middle. Basically try to read what he’s doing and counter attack with the best options.
If nothing else, practice passing the ball, get good at finding the soft spot in the coverage, be able t adjust routes to fit the soft spots and be able to quickly read the open man and get the ball to em. I would say get good at passing, because it is easier to move the ball down the field and score that way.

This is a good right here. If your not real good limit the passing. Throw in a few money plays. Like if he starts blitzing a lot because of the run sucker him into a screen but drop your qb wayy back then to it. Harvin should be able to take it to the house. For most of your play actions put your fastest WR in the slot and he will be matched up agianst a safety, LB or third corner. You can exploit that one all day. Throw flags out of the shotgun if you have third and long. That will allow you the least chance of an interception against man. If you stick with the vikins you can put in Jackson at QB and scramble that will cause him to have to leave a guy in spy mode and that calls for more man coverage. Slants are also safe passes for a good 5 yard gain just make sure the LB does not drop back in coverage. If you need anymore tips feel free to ask. On D do a lot of line stacking/fake blitzing for some people it usually messes with them.

Didn’t work. He was pretty rusty too and took the Texans. He threw to Johson every play. I ran like 30x and don’t think I gained 100 yards. Amobi Okoye had 5 tackles for loss and 3 sacks. WTF! I scored a couple fieldgoals and lost something like 21-6.
I almost dropped out of college due to a madden addiction. Not. kidding. Every day I want to go out and get an Xbox 360 and the new madden but…I…am…not…allowed.
