Macklemore and Ryan Lewis

The first rapper to ever give me that feeling would be Bubba Sparxxx

You got Jon Connor, Fuze the MC, Kendrick Lamar, Nitty Scott MC and Gavlyn out there and people are talking about Mackelmore? smh

Even Hopsin has a better flow than Macklemore.

J. Cole is great, but his future isn’t bright if he can’t get off the same lines. He says the same things a lot. If he stays fresh and keeps up with the beats he chooses for major releases he should go places. I like that his mix tape shit as well.

Jon Connor has a bright future as well… I’m excited to see what he does with it.

That Rigamortis song, kinda sucks to be honest. But the Rittz track is good, different but I like it.

That’s the point. I wasn’t talking about his flow. I was talking about the things he talks about.

It doesn’t matter if someone has the best flow on the planet if they say the same shit over and over.

We already said Kendrick has a better flow.

Beans, if you don’t mind me asking, how old are you? I feel like you’re in your late 30’s, early forties and you listen to rap, which I find funny. Haha, not a knock on you or anything…

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis definitely bring something new to Rap/Hip Hop. I think The Heist is an awesome album. I’ve been so against Rap/Hip Hop the last few years because of how much it all sounds the same and is all about the same shit, sex, drugs etc. I can’t relate to dropping thousands of dollars in a club, shooting guns at people and selling kilos of cocaine.

Not at all, because if you break it down, the dollar per lay ratio is abysmal.

And make no mistake, in these sort of displays that is pretty much all this is about.

To elaborate on that, if it is basically dollars for pussy, you might as well think thrift shop too.

Overpaying does not make it any better.

In fact, it would be a form of pedestal.

Wasnt the dude on the right in inglorious basterds and the office?

Macklemore’s flow is pretty sloppy imo. Its actually kinda a disgrace because a lot of underground hip hop in seattle is pretty nasty, but none of these artists like common market and blue scholars got the same exposure. Scion from Common Market prolly has the most precise effortless flow i’ve heard:

song starts at 1:25

I only know the one thrift shop song from him. Its played every freaking time im at the gym, and i’d agree he sounds sloppy and uninspired. Not very clever at all.

Was mostly just making a funny there, as anti-social and politically incorrect as it is, I would still love to offload boats worth of the stuff. I can go without the club scene, but the other two seem like they’d be fun, to some extent.

There are a few people I would like to shoot at too.

Unfortunately, society has deemed that to be unacceptable.

Spoilsports.

I would not know how to get rid of a few kilos of cocaine.

Weed, definitely, and if I have to do it alone.

Society has deemed a lot of things unacceptable that should by no means have ever been that way, not to say that delighting in mass murder of people one dislikes should be accepted, but even something as simple as fisticuffs for the sake of it is regarded as some kind of intolerable legal “sin”. A slap on the wrist and being sent home for the night maybe, a jail sentence and a criminal record, no.

I’m sure it’s not overly hard to learn, assuming one has their wits about them. It’s the fundamentals of business compiled into it’s own sub-branch, a largely inefficient and risky one, but basic business nonetheless. I know a few who may or may not have dealt in expensive white powders and oily juices to a reasonable degree of success (although possibly not up to full kilogram bags), and I’m almost certain that none of them hold a summa cum laude in business ventures.

The other, more viable options, are child’s play to trade around. All I would have needed were a few weeks of trading Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon cards as a kid and I could be set for my teenage years. Perhaps in a few years when such substances are no longer taboo, and we draw ourselves at least a little closer to rationality, these Pokemon cards will be replaced with local strains and novelty bongs.

If the mainstream rap “icons” of this day and age can brag about their proficiencies there, I must assume that there is hope for us all.

Does it really have to be mass murder?

What was wrong with duels?

Why cant two gentleman not adress their grievances with a civil and perfectly polite duell at & o clock in the park of their choosing?

We would live in such a polite and civil society, it would be a mild form of eugenics too.

At least when it comes to hand eye coordination.

When I think rap-stereotype shootings I don’t think gentlemanly duels, that was likely my reasoning behind “mass murder”

Duels I can deal with, perhaps a little more extreme than a bare knuckle fist-fight, but respectable nonetheless.

Can’t help but think that there’s an advantage for the natural early birds there, or just an incentive to fall asleep at a reasonable hour. If most arrogant, obnoxious men with a false sense of security were under an accepted code when faced with a duel, perhaps there would be less arrogant, obnoxious men.

Yeah, there would be.

Dead serious about duells too.

Though, early in the morning is kind of traditional, you could do it at high noon too.

Would also be more American.

I also like the idea of organised duels, as a sort of Hemingway/Roosevelt ideal. Even though his life turned to shit by consequence, you can’t fault Aaron Burr for being the better duelist.

Oh boo American. Let’s not forget the moustached, monocled, bowler hatted delightful old Englishmen who led the flintlock production lines way back when. Although I imagine a modern duel would be quite strange, I can’t imagine a single-shot agreeable circumstance with a glock, nor an old six-shooter for that matter.

You have no sense of tradition.

You cannot have a proper duel with an Ak 47, or a semi auto pistol for that matter.

You, or rather your second, needs to stuff the gun powder in there, then a ball, than a wad of paper so that it does not fall out and after having it safely secured by stuffing it all in, you each get your shot.

BTW, you shoot sideways, right arm straight out, that way they dont shoot you in the heart.

Or the balls.

The last part gets never mentionend though, it just seems to be a natural coincidence of protecting your heart.

Anyhow, a proper duell is a slow, solemn affair, if you were to spray your honorable opponent with a hail of bullets, you would practically be a gangbanger.

The ritualized, formalized violence is kind of the idea.
