Macklemore and Ryan Lewis

Talk about not sounding like you look…

lolol I saw them live as well a month ago

Macklemore is really shitty IMHO, Ryan Lewis has got good beats

I like his lyrics. He by no means has one of the best flows in new artists (I really think Kendrick Lamar is in that role right now as far as new guys), but I was getting tired of rapping about how everything you got is yellow and how you sell crack when you have a record deal.

hey disaster, did you see them at SXSW? That’s where I saw them.

man I wish, I’ve never been to a festival like that. It was actually a month and a half ago at MSU

@X lol I agree completely about that stuff, it’s annoying to hear guys rap about how they’ll murder you and snort coke off your dead body even though they’ve made millions from making dance music for the past 5 years. Do you feel like rappers in general are moving away from the “studio gangster” bullshit?

I think the studio gangster thing is played out except for some like Future who has a big following with the same people with similar backgrounds. I think real street cred is dead now for the most part because there aren’t even that many of these guys growing up in truly poor areas anymore.

Some of them are coming from middle class backgrounds yet acting hard.

maybe it is also my age…but i don\t care what brand of shoes I have on even though when I go out I want to look good.

I have a great moisture wicking t-shirt that looks fucking great in slacks…that cost me ten bucks.

I would wear that over a lesser well fitting $75 Gucci shirt any day.

I want more in my lyrics than how many chains you got on.

I found it funny when I googled Macklemore and saw that he was a white hipster looking guy from Seattle. Talk about LOL WUT?!? Ha ha
I am a fan of his two songs that are played on the radio. I have not heard any others.

Midnight Marauders and Enter The Wu Tang were released on the SAME day in 1993

Those were the days.

Who are these guys?

I like the lyricism on Same Love, also the pseudo-political idea behind it.

His whole album is really very good, but this is one of my favourites. Ryan Lewis’ backbeats are solid on this, Macklemore’s flow is pretty good here, and I’m a fan of having that John Legend sounding guy pop in every now and again.

I recommend his album “The Heist”, I enjoyed it a lot, and there are definitely some stand out tracks that are quite obscure, but more promising than Thrift Shop.

Dear Lord…Wu Tang is a religion.

No one is comparing the two.

I just like the songs they AREN’T playing on the radio.

I also liked Kendrick Lamar’s “No Make-up Today”. It stands out.

I am speaking of NEW music. Everyone can quote the old school heroes to sound cool.

The Heist won me over.

If you guys want a lyricist then listen to J. Cole. He raps about real things and doesn’t focus his lyrics about killing/drug dealing, etc…

Funny you should mention that, there’s a music channel on Youtube I subscribe to that just posted this track.

‘Lost Ones’ made me bow down to this dudes ability

I can’t wait till j. cole and kendrick lamar come out with their collaboration album…Out of all the new rappers that have come, these two I have enjoyed the most. I was glad to see kendrick lamar won “MTV’s Hottest MC” I just cant believe 2-chainz was even considered for being number one over kendrick.

Juicy J has blown up again in the past few years. I honestly think all his new stuff is better than 36 and despite constantly being fucked up on something he’s a hell of a business man and gets featured on everything.

My favorite rapper ever by far.

Haha it doesn’t make me sound cool.

It makes me sound old.

Another Seattle rap group. Not commercial at all, but I really dig these dudes.

For the record… that song was the one that made me listen to more.

Apparently, good music comes from addiction.

Talk about voice not matching appearance.
