I just take a 200mg caffeine pill pre-workout. Doesn’t make a huge difference, but it’s noticable. Haven’t really tried many regular pre-workouts.[/quote]
youre also on roids

I use them, because i like that boost. I like the ones with beta alanine, makes my skin tingly, caffeine, along with some basics like creatine and glutamine. I like to try different ones out each month because i do get used to them occasionally. Jacked is pretty cheap and has a pretty good amount of beta alanine and caffeine, as does assault.
a pot of coffee and then a Rockstar on the way to the gym ![]()
Thanks guys, I’ll look into something this weekend probably. Last night I knocked back a double caffeine Rockstar drink, with 250mg caffeine and it helped. So did the huge pancake and egg dinner I had, breakfast for dinner FTW! Haha
Chest/Shoulder/Tris workout. First “real” workout since 7/17. Felt good to get back into it, smoked the hell out of myself.

That does look like a lot for a getting back in the swing of things workout… you should have finished with the push up/pull up/dip Pyramid for good measure ![]()

I finished off with the TDC shit, and was crying. If I attempted that rediculous pyramid, I’d still be there!
Have you tried Spike Shooters? I’m gonna pick some up tomorrow!
is that the TDC I smell?

The one and only, it sure it. I was about to wrap it up last night and thought “fuck it, lets try to blast it out”
Killed me, haha
losing 17lbs in 5 days is fuckin nutters.
you did it, you tried the experiment and proved to yourself you could do it and still rocked a PR and improved your total (listen to your wise wifey).
However I am very glad you are not looking for a repeat. I’d rather have you lift strong like bull and flying like a kite post meet than crashing from the effort.
little miss in kindergarten already!!! time flies.
LWI.
you killed it Ink. Next time kill it and eat it.
Question:
When you bench do you pause all your reps or just some of them? I’m not sure what my technique should be when prepping for this meet?
Thanks in advance your your advice oh wise one
Good job at the meet. Yeah cutting weight is awful. I’ve been debating cutting weight to be more competitive in the 200s or man up and let it fly in the 231s.

Pause your heavy singles for at least a full second, dont worry about pausing your light multiple rep sets.
Mainy, thank you dear, and I’ll listen to the wise wifey, haha. LWI chica!
Greg, what I USUALLY do is pause the first rep, touch and go with the rest. When I get real close to meet day, pause all of them, like DF said. And by “full second” he means a full damn second. The last thing you want to do is be surprised at how long it takes for the press command, and have it fuck with your head.
Kalle, yeah it blows, I won’t be doing THAT again.
Got an alright training session in yesterday, just wanted to not completely destroy my legs and be useless for the week, but I still pushed it a bit. Had to break it into 2 sessions, because it was me and the girlies in the morning while mom was getting her hair did, and my daughters aren’t the BEST training partners…haha.
Wanted to try out squatting against bands, but my squat rack at home isn’t heavy enough to stay put under the EFS Strong bands. Hmmm…got it. Bands over the bar, step into them and hold them down with my feet. This made walking it out funky, but doable.

Never actually seen a wooden squat rack before. Pretty badass. How do you feel stepping through the bands as opposed to having them choked around something?

Homemade squat rack FTW man, thanks!
Stepping into them was/is fine, but walking out/back in with the band under my foot feels really strange. Once I get the cash for a cage, I’ll put one in and bolt it down. I’ll make a platform for attaching bands in the power cage and also for doing deads outside of it. In my head, my little 11x13’ space is going to be awesome, haha.
The one out of 2x4’s was just a temporary thing, cost next to nothing, and is strong enough for my weak ass so far. I wish I could choke the band around the bottom, but it’s not secured to the floor and would just flip over
