LWI: Lifting With Inky

Hey Ink nice job bro. If i remember correctly your last meet total was 903 or so and this meet was 940, that is a 37lb pr. You also increased your bench by 15 lbs and you got a pr on the deads as well. That is a successful meet bud. Progress is progress though man. With all the things you went through the last few weeks and you still got prs and you still improved over what you did last time is a good thing.

Just eat, relax and train your ass off and get up to 220 and nail that 1000+ total next time.

Whatev” but then my wife’s like “What the hell are you feeling crappy about? You haven’t had a solid training plan the last few weeks, you’ve been traveling, lost 17 pounds in 5 days, and you still hit a DL PR and improved your total!” “True” I said, lol

Herc, yeah my last meet was a 902 I think, and this one (after looking at the conversion charts) gives me a 942.5lbs total (270.1+237+435.4). I can get 1000 by October, just without dropping weight, working on technique more, and smashing weights around. I think I’ll enter that meet, fuck it, right?

How are you finding the meets that you’re doing Ink? Is there a site to look for ones in the area?

Cause I have… this uhhh friend, who might want to try one out. How would this friend of mine possibly find a meet in or around the San Diego area? (completely hypothetically speaking of course)

But yes, to echo the Hippie (who I’m surprised knows HOW to find meets, since he’ll never do one), go to www.powerliftingwatch.com and look for Powerlifting Meets on the left. You should be ablt to figure out the search function, but if not, Daddy Ink will help you, lol

  1. I’m working on it man, one class at a time, 2 meets in each (min) for apples-apples comparison of awesomeness levels. And then the “gear” issue, it takes time man. Not everyone can get a 1715 total first shot, DICK!

I forgot to mention, they had a deadlift bar used for squats. Bendy, killer knurling, super whippy bar…for squats. Hard to get set up right!

The spotters on bench, when the kids were benching, were not paying attention. One girl did a JM press straight into her throat, which could have easily been stopped. Then they let her attempt it again. Stupid, it looked like “Elbows unlocked…BAM” right into her stomach the second time. Parents, if you want your kids to get into a sport, SHOW THEM HOW TO FUCKING DO IT PROPERLY, YOU FUCKING MORON! To say I was pissed is an understatement. Can’t wait for my girls to get in there and wreck the OPEN division at like, 8 years old, haha.

DF, yeah, I grabbed the bar to squat and thought “WTF? Good LAWD!” I’d never do a meet at that gym again, I don’t care who the one running the thing is. And thanks for the kind words, my friend.

Still sore today, feeling almost mack to normal energy levels though. Might train something this week, just to do it, but we’ll see.

Greg, tell your friend to carry a small block of chalk in his pocket, and get a little chalky before the lift. Do it away from the bar, so the fairy dust on the floor isn’t near you. Ninja mode, engaged. That meet would be sick dude, if I can swing it, I’ll try, otherwise I might just do one the end of October here in PHX.

Edgy, I’m about back up to a normal energy level from my meet on Saturday (You forgot, that’s ok), so I’ll try to hit some Benching/shoulder/upper back work tonight once the minions go to bed. Working OT this week and for the next couple months, most likely, so hopefully I can hang.

thats a good idea. I’ll have to go super stealth mode on the chalk. It would be pretty rad if you did the meet too… either way though it’ll be fun.

Question: Who uses Pre-WO stim supps? What do you like to use and why? I’ve used some in the past, with “meh” results, and am just curious. Probably try and get something soon, to help blast myself into my workouts.

I just take a 200mg caffeine pill pre-workout. Doesn’t make a huge difference, but it’s noticable. Haven’t really tried many regular pre-workouts.
