failed my bench this week. I said a loud “fuck” and just as 2 heroes were about lift the bar off my chest, I rolled the bar down my fat belly. I figure it’s good for the abs. lol. I felt awkward for not letting them help me but then I cued the “deal with it”.

Got another decent session in tonight, but I’m worn out so I’ll fill you all in en la manana. It involved rb squats on a rack that was way different than the last one, and I was not a fan. I dealt with it, obviously, but you’ll see what sucked about it.

My hubby is a bow hunter…don’t know how that will help you though. :slight_smile:

Masch, last night was a whole bunch more of the dealwithit.jpg shit, but I found myself realizing that I get a damn solid session in when I feel like people are looking at me. I don’t lift super poundages or anything magical like some guys here (DF, Major, Herc, etc) but I just think that seeing someone squat to or near proper depth is about as common as seeing a unicorn walk into the gym and ass rape a personal trainer would be. I had a 3 musketeers last night PWO, so it’s ok :wink: She only got them because they were FREE and we’ll bring them to a movie or something probably. Free shit PWNS!

Ok, last nights work:

First off, I need to start off by saying that my traps and upper back hurt before doing anything yesterday, so I opted not to pull. Squats help the DL, but not necessarily the other way around, so I went for more RB squats. Well, this cage was shorter than the one I have used in the past, and the pin settings were way retarded. The first few sets were fine with me doing a bit of a calf raise to get the bar out, but the last couple sets I had to move it down, which left me doing a 1/4 squat just to unrack it. Also, the bands deloaded way lower in the squat than before, which is why the #'s used are much lighter. dealwithit.jpeg I guess. (I think that’s my next log title, right there!)

Done. Sweating my ass off again. I’ve been seriously putting in intensity here, and I like it! ME Upper and DE Lower sessions left to do at this gym. Gotta keep pushing forward @ 100%, hitting PR’s and not holding back, last 2 weeks I’ll refine form as much as I can, last week I’ll chillax, and then set meet PRs Aug 6th. Might say fuckit to dropping to 198 again, since I’m 208 right now. We’ll see how motivated I am to do some cardio, and see how it goes. I’m not going to kill myself over it, or even sweat it.

Good work buddy. Maybe you could attach the bands to the bar going across above where you set it up next time for RB work? Profit? Either way it served it’s purpose, it allowed you to overload your squat and train with supramaximal loads.

I say don’t bother dieting, i would gain going into the contest that way you can focus on recovery and strength. One less thing to worry about as well.

Yeah, I think I’ll do that if I come across that rack again. Piece of shit. I almost threw some plates on the floor so that the bar was the right height for unracking too. Stupid ass 24hr fitness…

True, and that’s what I should probably do. My only reservation about that is so that I can say I set meet PR’s in the same weight class that I competed in before. If I can comfortably fit cardio into my life right now, and it works out, I’ll try it. I know I can drop about 4-5 just from super hydrating and then stopping for a while before weigh ins. If I can drop 6 pounds by Aug 1, I’ll go for it. BUT…if strength goes down, I’m done! Last time I didn’t lose any strength, so I hope not to this time as well.

Luv 24 hour fitness racks! LOLWUTTTTTTTTT i h8 those things. Ive found its much better to have the pins lower for the bar when squatting. I had it set where I was calf raising it out but was losing alotta tightness. Squat looked ez dood! Keep on keepin on!

The thing about the rack height, was when the bar weight was 365, I was struggling to stay completely upright and was being compressed a bit, which made it impossible to get out of the rack. That’s when I unloaded the bar, moved the fucking thing down, reloaded, and went with it. I DO like that I could move the j-hooks to the side that doesn’t face the mirror. That way, I could stare at people while I grunted and rubbed my hands together, prior to domination. LOL

Thanks guys. The squats felt good, so it’s good that they looked alright to others. Upper body is still trashed to shit today, but I’ve gotta get an ME upper session in.

Tomorrow night, at the local rec center, they’re having “Drop-in Dodgeball” for anyone 18+. I’m planning on going in there and destroying someone. Never done it before, but looks lol-worthy for sure. I’ll probably get tagged out in the first .342 seconds of play, but if I get a shot…I’m taking heads off!!

Did 30 minutes on the t-mill this morning, @ 10% incline to try and be like Greg, but only 3mph, while watching “WWII in HD” on netflix. They got color footage from the war, and it’s narrated by some of those that were there. 1 episode down, and it’s awesomesauce. Ink recommends it, if you’re in to that sort of thing.
