LWI: Lifting With Inky

I have nothing to add regarding your lifting or any sales at Elite. I’m just in here because I thought you’d appreciate the fact that a few minutes ago I pulled a real life “Deal with It” at work.

<---- WINNING! and/or getting fired.

nope - we just prioritize different things like good women and good beer.

New squat PR, sweet! LWI!

Greg, sorry I couldn’t help. I’m sure one of the cute guys from Hillcrest would have been more than happy to stick something in your ear and fish it out.

Dixie, lulz!

Thanks racer, felt good to get somewhere on squats. Can’t wait to get to 3 plates per side

Hitting the gym after the kidlets hit the rack. Planning some beastiality. No, that’s not right…beastly shit, yeah…that one.

Allow me to introduce you to Southern Women and Southern Comfort. They are awesome.

Kickin it at Golds here in Tucson. Workin hard and stayin strong. Keep up with the hard work! I’m addicted to it and miss workin out on my off days.

Haha, I knew you guys would like that.

So last night was pretty awesome. Started when I walked over to the weight area, and I was greeted by the kid who I’d helped teach to squat. He said hey and I asked him how it was going, and he said he’s been squatting 3x a week and has put on 8 lbs already. Little kid’s going to able to add some mass quick! I want to catch him on a squat day and see if he’s doing them right, help him out some more.

Anyway, on my way over to the cage, I saw the dude that was cleaning 225 with bands, and push pressing 315 for reps…setting the bar on the floor with 495 on it. “Sweet, this will be good” I thought to myself. Then, this beast (he’s probably 6’2" and upwards of 300#'s, just a big burly man) basically RDL’s this shit for 5 like it was nothing. Later he did it with 545 for 3, and in between sets he would jump on a plyo box. And his buddy was squatting 315 for reps and getting decent depth. I fed off these guys (not in a gay way, or in a way like Rock would do).

Worked on some dead stop benching from the pins, set about a 1board’s distance over my chest. Twas awesome.

Bar x some
95 x some
135 x 6
185 x 3
215 x 3
225 x 1 *belt
240 x 1 *belt
250 x 1 *belt
*All done with a “dead stop” pause.

Raised the pins 1 setting, to about a 4board-ish height (tough and go)
250 x 3
265 x 2/1
275 x 1

Then did some rack pulls, first set was below the knee, but was feeling it in my lower back and that’s not what I was after, wanted upper back, so raised the bar to patella level.

225 x 10
275 x 8
315 x 5
365 x 3
405 x 3 *straps and belt

Heavy Bar Holds (Andy Bolton does 'em, so I’m trying them too)
405 x 10 seconds (Ouch)
405 x 5 seconds (Fucker)
405 x 12 seconds (Amazing what a tiny bit of snuck in chalk can do. I’m going to get some liquid chalk and if anyone’s got problems, they can blow me all the way to my DL pr’s. Bitches.

That was it, grabbed some ice cream on the way home, BOOM ROASTED!

Oh, and who the fuck sets up their client less than 2 feet in front of someone using a bench in a cage, when there’s plenty of free space a few feet to the left? I mean come on! This doucheknuckle trainer had this lady doing step ups close enough to me where I could have leaned over and untied her shoes. idiots.

A wider grip, but not necessarily a snatch grip, may help with hitting the upper back.

Very cool about the kid you helped out.

Awesome looking session ink! Yeah, i hate all the trainers at my gym here at home. They suck and do the same stupid shit like the one did to you.

Fucking genious. Wider grip rack pulls next time, excellent, thanks dude.
