Lowery Thurs. Thread - Got Questions?

Yes, lean pork medallions are a great source of protein and other nutrients. They can be pricier, though, than other cuts of meat. One should always read the label (grams protein vs. grams fat), though -so everyone should make sure it’s a lean serving.

Hey Lonnie, I’ve been dieting down for at least 8-10 weeks now and was going to back off a tad as I was sort of reaching the end of how low I wanted to go carb and cal wise (about 120-140gm and ~2100-2300, I’m about 190 and high single digits) and my progress was slowing.

Anyway in one of your articles you reccommended going back to more of a maintence plan for a week to fill back out and get your metabolism going again. I’d like to take a break for about 4 weeks (let the HPTA recover and b/c of things that are going on in my life). I’m not very carb tolerant however, how would you reccomend I keep from rebounding too much during those 4 weeks without losing muscle, more cardio (didn’t do too much during diet) or just eating somewhere between my maintence intake and diet low. Or perhaps change up my training to a bit more of a volume based plan (like 5-6 days a week of mid/higher rep training w/o much failure) to help my body use those carbs better.

Currently I’ve been using Chad’s total body training 3 days a week with mostly mid to low reps (worked awesome). Basically what would you reccomend for someone going off gear and and a pretty restrictive diet to maintain the progress I’ve made while prepping my body for the next bout of dieting?

So on the 10:00 and 6:00 plan… could this meal structure be fair?

Okay gents (and ladies, if you are out there), I’m toast.

See you next time!

Wow Lonman, take care. Life balance is a great thing. I hope the zen becomes highly atuned.

I can relate. I broke my hand in a motorcycle accident a couple weeks ago. Damn it’s hard to do a complete workout with only one hand!

I have managed to get squats working, finally, with a Manta Ray and just enough twisting of the wrist not to be painful. Every workout is an experiment in what I can and cannot do, until the bone “gets sticky” and I can start using the hand more.

Hope you have a speedy recovery.

LL, my girlfriend tried following my lead and supplementing with fish oil. She took 3 pills 2x day for about two weeks and broke out like crazy. Is this common? Any alternative suggestions to getting all the benefits of fish oil in another form? Thanks.
