well i have been lifting weights for bout 2 years now and i never really saw a big improvement. i always dieted well due to me being diabetic type 1. I also just found out i have low-testosterone. what can i do to help me…i believe i will be put on some sort of medicine for the testosterone and i have been taking insulin for about 13years. any reason why i have not gotten “ripped”. i always work on cardio, and lots of reps on my weight training.
I would definately eat more good fats expeccially EFAs which are essential fats and are one of the 3 things you must include in your diet to bulk up. Eating healthy fats increases hormone levels which are responsible for size and strength increases and may also increase testosterone levels according to research.
EFAs are mostly found in foods such as nuts, sunflower or flax seeds, and oils such as olive and conola oil. Fish oil caps are very good too. They definately wont get you fat because they are healthy fats and essential to your diet, and besides, people get fat from consuming too much simple carbs, not fat.
ALL your fats one that has a direct connection to T / hormone levels and is often to low in healthy minded people is the saturated fats be sure your getting enough not shorting yourself.
Also overduing the cardio and intense activity in general and not enough rest recovery and food can kill T levels as well
You need to look at a few things…
-
age
-
external factors like diet (already mentioned), medications, and exposure to xenoestrogens. Frequent pot smoking fucked up my t-levels so if you do any of that i’d cut back and see what happens. Mine shot straight back up after quitting.
-
training-as mentioned excessive cardio DOES lower T levels
-
Depression can also be a cause of low T. Just throwin’ it out there.
those are just a few. after you’ve examined all those factors and determined that none of them are affecting you, then i’d seek out some HRT. (Check out the ‘Your Doctor, Your Dealer’ article.)
Pussy helps too.

Again, it’s all diet. 80% Easily. You simply have to eat more food. Playing BB for 1.5 hours daily is way too much cardio for muscle gains of any significance.
so i need to gain weight to “to look ripped”…
i am 6’2’’ 215pds… with about 12-13%bf
