Hello, I’ve recently found out my testosterone is low. I do not live a healthy lifestyle and haven’t for most of my life. I drank a lot, was addicted to drugs, smoked, extremely bad diet. I was a very picky eater and still am, I never ate a piece of meat or vegetable until my 20s, my diet pretty much consisted of eggs, milk, peanut butter sandwhichs, cereal, frenchfries and hotdogs.
I also noticed my testicles are not as big as they once were, they are about 1.5 inches long and roughly an ince wide. My question is this, if i change my lifestyle can the low testosterone and shrunken testicles be reversed? I no longer drink, or smoke and am on methadone for my addiction but still struggling with my diet. Will I see improvements after a while? Or did I wait too long to make a change. I am 30 years old. Thanks.
No one can can answer this question for you hades. You may or maynot have damaged yourself.
Congrads on cleaning up your life you will be glad you did.
The methadone is poison, opioids are the testosterone killers, I give you a small chance if you stop methadone now. If you are unable to stop methadone, then the answer to your questions is no. The damage may already be done. I was on Klonopin for 30 years and it destroyed my natural testosterone production and I was never able to recover it naturally.
I don’t think this is an adequate substitute for a more potent opiate like methadone but tapentadol has been shown in a few small studies to have very minimal to no impact on exogenous testosterone production, I believe it is the only opiate that has been demonstrated to have very little effect.
Thanks for the replays. I am currently coming off the methadone, down to 30ml from 60. It’s only been a month since I quit everything and my testicles are starting to return to normal. The day after I made this post I started to notice a difference and getting better everyday. I’ve never been happier haha.
