OK, Done BodyOpus, then the Anabolic Diet, Lyle’s Diet, then Poliquins recommendations for the past YEAR, yeah, that’s right. Gave each one several weeks and All I’ve gotten is fatter. I feel shitty when I’m on them all and look small, flat and still fat. My waist is still 38", Is anyone else in my boat that low carbs don’t work for them. When I add Flax oil I actually feel gross and fatter after. All that looks good is my arms that look veiny, prob from the diuretic effect. Now I don’t believe in Phillips contest or his motivation BS, but the diet that the contestents followed worked wonders and I wanted to know how others here fared on a similar diet of 6 meals, protein and carbs with each meal and low fat. I’m going to try that and see how I make out, my goal is to reach 5% bodyfat and it seems like an impossible dream right now. Gonna follow an Ian-King workout (not the lame-ass Body-For-Life program, but do the cardio like the book suggests) I want to keep things simple, considering the MRP Diet with 4-5 MRP’s a day with 1 or 2 real meals, adding natural peanut butter to a few MRP’s for some fat, and Extra Carbs and Metamucil for my 1st meal which will be Post-Workout Meal too. my last meal will be Chicken and Vegetables. Any comments would be appreciated. BTW, I’m 6’3", 245lbs around 13% bodyfat.
4=5mrps a day is a bad idea when dieting, its predigested therfore equaling high insulin response, go with as many solid meals as possible except postworkout. try 50%protein 30%carbs and 20%fats. aKeep carbs oats, and yams and vegies, protein clean, and fats essential not pb, maybe olive oil. Try sprints and traditional cardio in the morning alternating each.
You will lose fat if you follow the low carb diets propel (sometimes they must be tinkered with for each individual)
Bills diet is actually a low carb diet! It is in fact very close to Dan Duchaine’s Isocaloric diet.
If you do Bills diet (which is basicalyl equal protein and carbs) You should hit at least 3 tablespoons of flax seed oil daily.
i promis if you add the fat you will lose MORE fat faster (and your helf and insulin sensitivity will be better)
Tapp, not all MRP’s cause a high insulin response.
Pete, have you’ve been to a doctor and had a complete physical? If you have been trying exercise and cardio and still can’t lose, your problem might be hormones. Have thyroid, test and estrodiol checked. I’ve had great luck on the Anabolic Diet, but keep in mind that you still need to create a caloric deficiency to lose weight.
Your statement. "When I add Flax oil I actually feel gross and fatter after" leads me to wonder if your flax oil is oxidized, are you sure that you have purchased the oil where the store has kept it refrigerated, and you are refering it as well?
I know I get sick on oxidized oil, I usualy toss a pinch of BHT or Ascorbyl Palmitate in the bottle when I first open it.
