Shoulders looking jacked, I rekon if you sit another 30lbs you would look seriously good. Time to get your pump on.

Agreed, if you use your hand to cover up the love handles on the back pic you’ll see just how much mass is there and potential for a good v taper with a lower bodyweight

You’re looking solid Hog.

Speaking from experience here…

You need to pick a goal and direction and pursue it for the next year. That’s right, a full year, minimum. If you’re going to cut then cut slowly and gradually while training with a more traditional bodybuilding program.

If you do that for a few weeks and then switch back to chasing numbers and repeat that a couple times then there’s a good chance you will have made very little progress a year from now.

It seems like you’re leaning towards physique goals but that seems to be due to a lack of options. You’ve been beat up, sick, and hurt so chasing strength isn’t ideal right now. My only concern is that you’ll switch back to chasing numbers once you start to feel better.

I was 240 lbs when I hit my PRs last year. That’s 20 lbs lighter than where you are now and I had pretty similar numbers (except on squat). I have no doubt that you’ll be able to squat 4 plates and pull 5 at a bodyweight of 240 (or less).

I want to see you make progress. Don’t get stuck going back and forth.

I agree 100% with @Frank_C. You set your goals obviously, but you can and will be a better athlete at a lighter BW. That’s what I would do.

And you dont look gross. But imagine what you would look like at 220. Boss.

You’ve got quite a bit of mass there hog. I think you’d be surprised how much the physique will change if you drop down 30 lbs. get a good plan in place for diet and I bet you drop really quick.

Thx jack. I’ve been dropping 2-3 lbs a week since I’ve dialed in what is working for me and hitting full body with some light cardio each session. Seems that my metabolism has ramped up.

I’m going to 255 and check where I’m at. I assume I’ll be over 15% bf. I’m thinking I’ll end up somewhere around 230-235.

It’s hard to believe, but I’m down almost 40 lbs since October. You could drop to 230 by the end of summer if you wanted.

@liftangryordie500

Thanks for that. I went back down where I’ve been and remembered the energy I had back then. I felt awesome and unstoppable. I need to drop some more weight.

Thoughts and musings…

Weighed in at 262 pm tonight. I may get to see a sub 260 in the morning.

The back was tighter than usual today mostly in the morning. Reverse hyper or 145 x 10 likely the culprit. I’ll keep a close eye on it moving foward.

I like squatting every time I go into the gym. I may keep it in the plan moving foward. Just doing light tempo, or pause form work on upper training days.

I miss deadlift.

I’ve been having a banana and 5-8 strawberries with some heavy cream at night before bed. Yum.

I passed on the teacher appreciation lunch today. No chips, soda, or cake. The soda is never a temptation. The cake was…

I’m excited to train again soon. I need to start looking for a good linear program. (@Alpha has some good ones). I like the thought of giant sets and general conditioning. I made huge gains when I was doing both.

When I get lean this time I will not allow myself to ever get back this fat again.

I also like the thought of 8,10,12 sets for linear progression
