Lost 50 Lbs - Loose Skin

Hey guys, I’m 6’0" defensive Lineman, I’ve gone from 285 to 245 in the past year and a half, and I have this loose skin on the bottom of my stomach…any tips? this shit is gross

I have seen this problem before, but the only solution I know of is surgery. Since it’s not “medically necessary” insurance won’t cover it. You sound young so it may take itself up over time, but it will probably never go away. So what ya need to do is get frigin’ huge and it should stretch out.

well check this out i hope you find this useful. I’ve had have the same experience myself being a former fat boy.

Sounds like you lost 40 pounds.

Thanks guys, yeah I’m 21 years old and a junior in college…I lost 40 lbs. of just straight fat…(Im a lot stronger now than I ever have been), and I’m just trying to get so jacked up that you can’t even tell…but it’s just this area on the bottom of my stomach that won’t go away

Hestrie Cloete, 2 times world high jump champion. This is a woman who went through 2 pregnancies, without any surgery. Give it time before you consider surgery.

Agreed. At 21, chances are high that any loose skin will tighten up on its own. I also wonder whether you are mistaking fat held on your lower abdomen for “loose skin”.

Loose skin with no fat under it doesn’t have lumps of fat that can be felt under it. Chances are, unless you are extremely lean, you have fat on your lower abdominals.

i might also suggest fixing up ur nutrition. if most of your weight loss came from fat presesence of loose skin would not be much of a concern. You could be sure if its only the loose skin left is when you pinch them together and feel nothing in between them

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking. Just wanted to be sure.

Thanks, Prof.

Also, if it’s just skin, you’ll be able to pinch very little and be pull it away from your body. If it’s fat, you’ll need to take at least a 1/2" pinch. If it’s just skin, you won’t need that much.

I have truly never met someone who had too much loose skin after losing weight. I’m not sure why the notion of this occurring is so widespread.

Something just occurred to me…

Extend your elbow. Pinch the skin below your elbow joint. Pull on it. Feel it. Now pinch the “skin” around your mid-section.

Quite a difference, 'eh?
