Losing Track of Time While Squatting

Some of your points are valid concerning what to expect and taking a look at the post from outside perspective I can see where a joke or two comes into play. The point I am trying to make for a person like yourself, since you seem to be the internet spokesperson, is the comments concerning the wife or getting my address and so forth, is it really necessary? From your tone of writing, it seems you have a problem or getting irritated. Would you care for a tampon? Is a serious statement or a joke poking fun back at you all in good nature because that is protocal in this forum?

Again, you have made some valid points when looking at from an objectionable point of view and I will take your suggestions to heart. Take care sir, and hopefully, during my many travels across the U.S. and especially on the East Cost where I sent a lot, we can meet up. Don’t take it as a threat, because the intention is to network.

Hey Sarge, quick background: Separated SSGT of 6 years in the AF. Decided I’d rather pursue an Economics degree full time and work in the civilian sector. However, I loved my time in the AF and have the utmost respect for what you do. Not sure if you’re a classroom instructor or MTI (not that it matters), either way your dedication to the gym is inspiring to young Airman; trust me. It’s how I got started lifting.

As far as the forums are concerned on this site, it’s just general tomfoolery (especially in GAL and SAMA). I apologize if I offended you (I’m pretty sure you DO have thick skin however) it was not my intention. I have a way of over-illustrating points. Is it necessary? No. Is it fun for most? Yes. Hope you do stick around, this is a great site.

thought id let you guys in on some valuable information

*i just farted!

Wow, way to pussy out, Polo:) <--------smiley. That means that you can’t be mean to me. It’s like being on “base” in a game of tag.

Polo… be nice to the newbies. Didn’t your mommy ever teach you to play nice with others?

To the OP:
When I compete (PL), I don’t remember a damn thing about my lifts (squats in particular). I remember setting up and walking out, because it’s such a methodical thing and then the last thing I remember is “Squat with speed”. Next thing I know, I’m being helped back into the rack and looking for white lights.

Why does this happen? I think for me by the time I’m on the platform everything better be second nature. I also can’t be thinking about how heavy the weight is, if I’m going to make it, how tight my knee wraps are, how much my suit hurts, etc. if I have a hope in hell of making the lift. My mind is pretty much a blank (Polo and others…refrain from the blonde comments please. It’s just too easy).

This is what I will state to those who are providing irrevelant information and comments; It’s not needed! I have thick skin, but why post childish comments. It’s just like Mauradermeet stated, if you and I were at a gym, would you come up to me and say I am on drugs or have syphilis. What is the point?

I was asking those who want to post or share something some revelant to share.

Again, cease the childish antics and if you don’t want to comment, just pass it by just as the other 80 some odd people have done.

In the end gentleman, good luck on your endevours.

Side note, Jaybvee, please share that photo!

No, i’ve never had that happen.

No, you do not have thick skin.

If you would read the comment, the response was a call for professionalism and proper conduct. However, as stated in the earlier post by one of the members, I guess it is to be expected when communicating through the internet. Then, on that note, it is my fault for expecting more out of people.

Truth.

Sorry SergeantQ but if you come here expecting half the serious answers you were expecting you will be sorely mistaken & disappointed. Professionalism & proper conduct? On the fricking internet? Woo boy…

If anything I would have to agree with another poster that you might have cut off a little blood supply to your brain on the ascent portion of the lift so focus on the moment & your breathing pattern.

This is T-Nation - you are going to have to expect some mild BBQ’ing & roasting as an initation of sorts. For serious.

I am starting to understand protocal on this forum. Since I am new to the site, I have to go through all the bumps and bruises of being the FNG. O.K. Let the fun begin. Lesson learned and I will in the future try to restruture my questions to a more serious question to be posted at a different forum.

HARD LESSON LEARNED! AS I BOW MY HEAD IN SHAME AND AWAIT THE BEATINGS! DAMN!

Hmmmmm, your smiley’s has more personality than mine, so that means that you’re E-Cooler than me. Damn.

You’re a meany polo. My quarter is in the mail but it better get me something really good. Not some shitty advice.

I agree with Court but it applies to more than just squats. How many times do you drive a familiar route and you don’t remember the drive because you’re on automatic pilot? We do so many things in our life with such frequency that our brain no longer really registers them in detail.

If, however, you notice it in other areas of you life about things you would normally recall, I’d get it checked out. For instance if someone references an incident or conversation that should stick out, there could be an issue.

Otherwise, I wouldn’t worry about it.

I had it happen to me last week when I was doing a set of 15 lumber jack squats, as part of a tri-set with back/front squats. I remembered reaching seven when the bar was slipping a little on my weight vest, and then the only other thing I remember was that I wasn’t counting the final five reps yet at 7, the only way I figured out I had done 15.

No idea why, blood pressure, pain, whatever. It was a hard set, and I don’t really want to remember it!
