So why is it that any body part for me, mostly legs, lose definition and tone and size the days I dont train them? Like if I do legs Wednesday and saturday, then my quads look really trash on friday and the beginning of my workout on saturday. Is it just the “pump”? So how would I get the definiton back? Do I just hit leg day again? However I also ask this because I will be skipping my Saturday leg day for hiking far away. Is this ok? Or should I try and make it up on like a chest day, which is monday…?
No one loses muscle in a day (or even. Week for that matter). It’s always water and/or glycogen. Most people lose leg definition from after inflammation. My legs were always smooth as hell for a couple of days after training them.
That’s why I wouldn’t hit legs a week or more before a contest.

Haha it’s awesome your so in invested in your fitness journey. Focus on being consistent, sticking to your plan and diet year around, worry less about a single day missed from the gym now and then, or a meal now and then that’s not on your diet and you will succeed.
Kid, you really should stop making these ‘I’m super anxious about my appearance’ posts. Like many teens, you seem to be suffering with significant body-image issues. And what you are doing–making multiple posts seeking reassurance regarding the latest worrisome thoughts intruding on your consciousness–isn’t going to address your root problem, and will serve only to make this community annoyed with you (something you’ve experienced previously, and know isn’t pleasant).
So I shouldnt focus on leanness aka abs and vascularity but bulk up? And I think I might’ve damaged my metabolism etc… any tips on reigniting it? Cheers
You need to stop reading so much. Find one person to follow for advice and stick with their program for at least a year. If you truly want help come with photos, a diet log, and a training plan so people can actually help you instead of answering questions that don’t you you any closer to your goals.
^^^^
That’s nothing, I missed two leg sessions in a row once and not only was the tone in my legs gone, the muscles themselves were gone. There was literally only leg bones.
Luckily, I was able to do shock training for my legs and revive them back into existence.
Good thing too because I had a date that night. Surprising my muscles meant I didn’t have to surprise the girl with the wrong type of bone.

As they say, in one ear and out the ass via damaged metabolism.
I feel like this thread is going to go wayoff the rails, but I found this a really interesting tidbit, even as more of a strength (read: non-physique) athlete myself. Never would have thought this. Assume it only makes a big difference in appearance once you’re at contest-level leanness?
I am thinking someone is liking the attention hes getting with all his posting .
EDIT: I tried to be slick by telling you to just train regularly, but I don’t think you’re on here often enough.
Look man, I get it. This is a great platform for you to reach out to when you have these kinda concerns. But I have two theories of what’s going on.

You’re an insecure teenager. We’ve all been there and we all have our ideal aesthetic that we want to reach. But being on this forum should also show you how much work and discipline needs to be put in. If this is the case, maintain a training log here, and see how you can improve your training from input. Browse other people’s training logs, ask questions, and borrow ideas.

You’re a troll and/or bully. You probably got a hold of a classmate’s progress pics, got mad that he stole your girl despite being smaller than you, and started posting dumb shit just to make him look stupid, and to clown forum members here with these dumb ass questions.
So you tell us bro, which is the case?
