Losing Fat on 1250 Calories?

OP has already lost 50 pounds, which is no small amount. The only thing ‘extreme’ about the Get Shredded Diet is the low calories. For him, that would be 2400 cals a day. Not that extreme at all.

That is true. It’s just that it is very strict. Also, the supplementation is kind of expensive (for me at least). There is no way he wouldn’t lose fat on the plan, I just think that any other logical eating plan would work well. But if the OP really wants to shed weight in a really short time, I suppose GS would be the way to go.

It’s all up to the OP I guess… IMO it’s the question of “Can a person who has been eating shitty fall into a strict eating plan like the GSD?”

I don’t know if I could…[/quote]

The supplementation is ridiculous. The science-types tend to go supp-crazy, but I think similar (read: identical) results could be achieved with just BCAA and creatine. he should already be taking a multivit and fish oil. Perhaps we shouldn’t call it the Get Shredded diet.

OP:

Cut carbs to less than 30g a day.
2400 cals
30g protein with every meal
Take BCAA
lift heavy shit regularly
Include some HIIT

Not exactly groundbreaking stuff.

I see you are on the Anorexia diet.

Agreed…

If you cut your cal’s too low your metabolism will just halt and you’re not gonna lose any weight regardless. I’ve learned that the hard way.

Thanks a lot for the advice guys.
I think I will go with 2400 cals 200g of protein and 40g of carbs because lower than that makes me feel like wanna kill somebody.

Thanks again guys,

I think I will cut until the end of august. and then start bulking.
or u think I should cut more?

thanks again everyone

I guess it depends how successful your cut is…

if you don’t reach your goal by end of august, i’d just continue. But i wouldn’t try to cut for too much longer than 2 months at a time, it fucks you’re metabolism.

You could try a Protein sparing modified fast type diet. One is outlined by Lyle McDonald in this book.

http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/lylemcdonald-tha.html

It would be a very low calorie diet, just protein, some fish oils and veggies. If you haven’t been low carbing you would probably drop 12-15lbs in the first 2 weeks. Just depends on how bad you need to win the bet. But 20lbs of just “weight” should be obtainable in a month.

Or, the V-diet.

Curious-- what’s the bet? A million dollars? A car load of virgins?

Is it worth wreaking havoc on your metabolism?

Yeah you should cut until you’re satisfied and have hit your goal. It’d probably be best to be around 12% body fat before bulking up, but that really depends on your personal goals and what you want to look like. If you don’t mind carrying around the extra fat then you can bulk whenever you want to.

I doubt if there is any bet.

I rest my case

IMO, 1250 is a recipe for muscle loss, depression, and low testosterone.i also think that cutting out a major macronutrient, like carbs is a big mistake.
y not try a balanced approach, 2000 calories, 200 g of protein, 200 g of carbs, 50 g of fats cut out sugar, and stick with it for a month and see what happens?

ya, I’m gonna go for something similar, I don’t wanna lose muscle.

Op, how long have you been lifting? If you’re new to lifting and follow a decent plan then then you should not have to loose muscle, you should probably be gaining , or atleast strength if you just started out.

well, In the past 8 years I have been weight lifting like 2 months a year. I get a membership in the gym go for couple weeks then stop going, but in the past 2.5 months I started getting serious about my look so I haven’t stopped and I think I’m addicted now.

my lefts has increased like before one month I use to dumbbell bench press 50 pounds( 25 pounds in each hand) and now I do 80 pounds (40 pound in each hand).

Carbs are not a neccesity. Cutting carbs can be very beneficial. I honestly see no reason not to do it, excepting PWO. Carbs taste good, so people like to have them, but one can easily do without.

If you need to do it to win a bet shed a bunch of water weight for the weigh in. Lose as much fat as you can reasonably and then cut water weight like a fighter.
