33115 awesome! i knew that 125 single would add me strength and it did. it was close to failure though. next time 117.5

2*70. the first rep was hard, the second was harder haha i was surprised that i got the first one to begin with, the second… idk i think i know what articles talk bout now when they say the body first recruits slow fiber muscles or something like that and then if it needs even more strength it will recruit the faster and more and more. cause it seems i get it up to my hair, then it gets stuck and then it slowly starts to go up again. anyway cool stuff ![]()
next time i hope for 3-4 reps. at any rate i hope the first 2 will be easier than today!
went olympic lifting today
it was great, it was awesome
i learnt the technique much better. funny thing is they say my jerk is good even though for me it feels the most… unstable? thing.
but anyway its so great to pick up the same weights you used to and feel them flying up. i practically power snatched one time 40kgs with barely any dip to get under the bar.

i so had the 2nd set for 3 reps, just barely missed it. on the third set i didnt try for a 3rd one. less failure, less overtraining i guess?
next time 33117.5. good thing about getting 3*3 with some weight, is that with a 2.5 increase you know you’ll always get at least the first set
overhead press couldnt do any with 70, my shoulders were kinda sore from yesterday’s ol. lifting shoulder shrugging. oh well
i may go down to 67.5 again and get in 5 perfect form reps.
i also weighed in at 107.6 today morning, which is actually more like 106.8 or so since i was wearing clothes.

did 50 snatch and 60 clean and jerk today, up 10 kilos from last times
i still need to learn to sit down more under the bar, i keep powering everything and if i dont i lose the bar cause im not putting enough strength haha i need to find a good medium
and i definitely need to sit lower in the jerk when the weight gets heavier.

560, 2100, 23120, then i was stupid enough to try for 122.5 and reached failure on first rep so that was it.
oh well, better 6 reps in 2 sets than in 3, ill go again saturday and finish 120, then im thinking next week ill just go and try for singles, ive had great progress with singles about a month and half ago with front squats, and i had great progress in the deadlift with them too. ill try starting with 127.5 and then get up to 130 on monday. if i can get the 130, ill probably get 132.5 on wednesday and 135 on thursday evening(cause i have to leave for a trip at night)
overhead press, i try to put it in the exact same position as the starting position for the jerk, im thinking that thats how ill be doing it so i might as well do it this way. ill start with 60 since i could only do 2 with 62.5 that i tried.

i think i reached up to 3*100. those are a killer for my hands, hurt even more than deadlifts.

clean and jerk worked up to 2 sets of 1 of 70 kgs.
I definitely could use a better jerk. the dip is fine, the drive is slow, the getting under… i dont get low enough. it would pass in a competition the way i did it but still who cares for that when its only 70kgs.

did up to 50 kgs clean and jerk
then up to 2 sets 3 reps 70 kgs cleans. quite good.
my shoulder are like dead, so i didnt do jerks… there wouldnt be a point anyway

monday morn, wed morn and thursday evening ill go for singles.
ill start with 130 on monday, hopefully it will be done (and with 3 reps 122.5 it probably will)
i wont go ol. lifting today or tomorrow, my shoulders are still nuked, and i felt a tad bit ill today(though it might have been from the cleans yesterday when they hit my throat a bit sometimes).
now its rest rest rest eat eat eat sleep till monday.
Well I lied, and went ol lifting
Did 40kg snatches… a couple or 3 were done really well, didnt have to balance at the bottom, just straight stood up with ease. i think it helped that in the starting position i tried to balance the weight so that its on the front of my heel, instead of behind the balls of the feet.
Also tried to bend the knees first instead of just thinking of “jumping up”. i guess you just have to learn a thing or two every day instead of everything together.
50kg clean and jerks, kinda better than last time both the clean and the jerk.
ok now im seriously getting tomorrow off completely. ill probably only go for a max single in thursday for legs and that will be it. not worth overtraining just to get all my goals. ill just get a 130kg front squat and that will be fine.
wow ok well suddenly i dropped to 106.5 kgs.

im almost certain ill get 135 on saturday. i cant train before(or ok i can but there wouldnt be a point)
im gonna go olympic lifting today night, and maybe a little tomorrow, but after that i leave for a trip, so ill go to the gym again saturday for singles again. ill start from 135 so i wont be tired and hopefully ill get it. if i get 137.5 too(though i doubt it) it will mean 40 kgs in 2 months exactly.
also did like 5*50kgs with near perfect form+stop at the shoulders overhead press. and grip width same as in the jerks.
well i got all my stuff today.
amazingly the only thing i have a complain about are the 4 20kgs olympic bumper plates. they bump alright but in the middle the hole is too big and they can easily fall out of the barbell.ill call them to ask what i can do to make the distance smaller. maybe duct tape it?

since its been 8,5 days since the last time i did anything i did a 120kg single… some snatches and clean and jerks, some overhead pressing. i tried a 135 single. and while usually i just go down… then go up a couple inches and right there its as if my muscles shut down and i fall again down in the hole and stay there… if im too tired… this time, i just stayed couple inches above but couldnt go up anymore. so i wasnt tired, but i didnt have the strength. which is good. means i rested. anyway… saturday ill start with 130 single and build up from there again.
i was on a freaking 56k modem for 2-3 weeks and T-Nation takes forever to load so… i didnt post myworkouts here but here they are

been a while since i posted since im at my summer house and i have a 56k modem. nuff said
anyway, i did a few “workouts”
1 thing i learnt.
NEVER go for a week without training abs. not training legs is fine, but for abs its too long. basically the weight keeps crushing me lately in the squats, i feel it way too heavy on my upper body instead of on my legs. at least i learnt something
however tomorrow im going for 5 reps 57.5 kgs overhead press, from jerk position, from a “dead” stop on my shoulders every time. so no cheating at all. its going up easily so im happy about that. i think my overhead was lacking anyway compared to my squat.
ill also go for reps for the next couple sessions in the squat. probably load up at 110 and do reps.

i tried doing overhead press yesterday, i guess i do need more rest. ill go for 3 days for all for now. maybe 4 for the legs. ill see how it goes.

all of them PRs. i guess front squats and olympic lifting helped haha
im pretty happy about this. im assuming it means a clean of at least 100 with my current form. considering my 3 rep max right now is 117.5 thats not that far behind for a noob like me. ive heard thats how much you should be able to clean. ifyou can front squat it for 3, you can clean it.
also i killed one of my callouses. funny how they always hurt after the workout, and not during…anyway. be back in 3 days to tell more PRs

1*120, the 2nd one killed me. it feels pretty heavy on my back so i decided to do back squats!
worked up to a 125 single starting from 110. 127.5 failed and 2nd 125 failed too
deadlift
worked up to 177.5 single, 182.5 failed
this workout lasted like 2 hours so no wonder… im tired.
sunday i have another overhead press and shoulder shrug workout and then im leaving and dont know when ill do another session

i also weighed at 105.5 kgs today
which i think can be lower on some days… you know how weight fluctuates. but anyway
started weightlifting back some days ago
still nothing impressive, got trouble with the snatch when it hits my waist, either im doing it wrong, or its supposed to hurt that much…

btw i reached up to 2 or 3 singles with 67.5 on the overhead press i think.

learnt a couple things. just as i suspecteed the reason the bar hit my waist hard on the snatches were because i forgot to turn my elbows out.
also learnt to not be tight except for my core during the lifts and tighten during the points where you have to.
