Looks Like Wolverine Skips Leg Day

^ Pic is from 2009 (around the time of that BB.com article). Small by bodybuilding standards, for sure, but not really anorexic. As has been said, probably pretty comparable to your average gym member.

500lb power curtsey… ahem I mean squat… with a lot of grinding and maybe some screaming… sure! :)
Where’d you hear about that squat? (No link, just wondering.) I can’t find anything online about it.

I remember when BB.com ran an article on him and stated he could leg press about 1,000 lbs

lol
The same piece that claimed the leg press said he could bench 315. Simply inflated numbers or “loose” technique probably in the hopes of getting young fans (who don’t know a bench press from a 5-board press) from a even more stoked about how hardcore Wolverine is/will be.

He also talked about benching 315 in Men’s Health a while back:
‘“When I have 315 pounds above me, there’s that little breaking point,” he says. “You either get really pissed off at that weight, or you ask for help from your spotter. It’s that exact point–and every guy reading this article will recognize it–when Wolverine gets not just pissed off, but insanely pissed off. I try to reach that point every day in my workout. And then push through it.”’

He seems like a good guy, but a 6’3", 200ish pound, 40-something year old who isn’t a pro athlete or dedicated lifter putting up those numbers? Not likely, to say the least.

I can believe the 315 bench. But I would bet money it’s a real grind out on a good day for him.

Chris - I swore I read it but can’t find 500# squat other than links to BB chat
so I recant even though my legs are much larger/more defined from getting off of the growler several times a day

http://hughjackmanworkouts.org/

This should make up for it though

You mean I can pick up chicks if I don’t get too bulky? Surely, only doing 3 exercises will get me super lean and ripped. But I don’t want that bulky look cause girls don’t like it.

Ahhh, who cares if his legs are small. Honestly I don’t really like him much as an actor. The last Wolverine movie he was in was crap. He did ok in the X-Men movies. Only movie I really liked with him in it was The Prestige and I thought Bale was much better in it anyways.

i wonder which pic is real…

Smith Machine? 315 is a lot easier on a Smith Machine, especially if you still count the bar for 45lbs, even though it is counterbalanced.

Counterspell, 2 blue mana. Counters target “/thread”. (Ha, sorry. I found my Magic Player’s Guide in the basement the other day.)

The above pic is grabbed straight from his verified Twitter account. Unfortunately (I guess?!?), it’s the same as the first post in this thread.

Maybe on a good day. But it’s still 1.5xBW which is a big lift, and the way he talked about it above, I get the impression he’s talking about it as something he does on a regular basis. Even the Smith Machine, like Silyak said, would put an asterisk on the claim. Anyhow, it’s kinda whatever. I just got Real Steel in the mail from Netflix. I’ll check it out over the weekend and will probably enjoy it regardless of his leg development or gym lifts.

Everyone is quick to have a jolly good chortle at all those chicken leg memes but the the minute Jackman is exposed as human lollipop, it’s all about ‘goals’.

WAIT!

Maybe this was a pic of him training for Les Miserables and he needed to look like a guy that stole a loaf of bread and got stuck in a French prison.

Indeed.

I’ve seen that a few times on this board.
The first page will guys having a laugh at whatever is first posted…then a longer-term member will come in on the opposite side and then the next 3 or 4 posts are all agreeing with the long-term poster…then we get a mix of one side and the other.

the wolverine from the comics had bigger legs though? if he wanted to look like wolverine he wouldn’t have chicken legs

juggernaut was too small as well, how can they make juggernaut a small guy? wtf?

I don’t know if you’re joking but a movie Juggernaut that was equal to the size of the one from the comics would require an actor that’s about 9 feet tall and 1200lbs of muscle.

Nards you shithead, you’re getting old…they could have done it with computers and made Juggernaut a CG character.

Nuh uh man; Valjean is supposed to be some super strong Bill Kazmaier motherfucker. There’s that part where he deadlifts a big ass wagon off some dude trapped underneath.

Also I lol’d hard at Colucci’s counterspell.
