Looking to Build Mass on TRT

Hey all. I’m 22 years old and was recently diagnosed with low T after taking multiple blood tests in a 3 month time frame (levels were at 350,260,and 289 respectively). Over the past four years I’ve managed to lose around 20 lbs of what I think is mostly muscle despite working out six days a week (4 day split, 2 days of cardio). When I do try and “bulk up” at 3,000 calories (I weigh 180 lbs) it seems that I gain more fat than muscle, if I manage to gain muscle any at all.

Anyways, with the TRT shots (200 ml/every 2 weeks) and hard work I’m hoping things will change. My question is whether it is necessary or not to work the lower body in order to achieve maximum atrophy in the upper body. I have very large legs, always have, and I’m not looking for them to get any larger until my upper body can catch up. I run at least 2 times a week and play sports, so I’m thinking my legs get a good workout from those alone.

If anyone who is also on TRT could comment on this I would appreciate it. Other comments and advised are also welcome.

For maximum growth hormone production you want to work the lower body. I’m like you, my lower body has always been bigger proportionately than upper.

Another thing, you might consider dividing your T into 100 mg weekly, and if you want to really keep your blood levels steady, inject 50 mg twice weekly.

I have regained much of my muscle that was lost during a long period of low T. Like you I trained and was fighting a losing battle at the gym. I completely agree to dose 100mg/week as opposed to 200mg/eow. I would also continue to train legs but train them differently than the rest of your body. If you wish to regain the size you have lost in your upper body train heavy in the areas you wish to build muscle and train high reps with lighter weight for your legs.
